42 Million Views

*We used to update this page at every million mark.  When we reached 30 million we stopped.  We figure with this new highlight it was time to update the entire page.

November 2022 – We have now reached 42 million views.

We have now had 30 million views since starting our little movie blog back in 2011.  Not too bad for a mom and pop operation.  Granted, it took almost 10 years and three different websites and over 8,000 movie pages.  The good news is that views keep growing and growing.  For that, we thank you….without the support of the readers….there is no way we would still have a website.

So, to get a ton of useless stats out of our movie notebooks and on to a webpage…we thought we would list the stats behind the 30 million views.  So we have broken down our stats from our first webpage…HubPages.com…..our second webpage…CogersonMovieScore.com (RIP) and our third and hopefully finally webpage – UltimateMovieRankings.com.

  1. HI BIG GUY! 40 million – wow! And I am sure that nevertheless you being the perfectionist you are will not be satisfied but are saying to yourself like Robert Stack’s John Paul Jones “We have just begun to fight!”; and like Alexander the Great you are “Looking around for fresh worlds to conquer.”

If you have ever absorbed ANYTHING that I have said in my own posts you will know that I wholeheartedly think that your site deserves its massive success [as do your books] so sincere congratulations to yourself and Partner in Crime W o C.

Certainly a great credit to its founders and organisers is a site which can be so successful despite having been plastered all-over with the thoughts and sayings of Joel Hirschhorn!!! [Who wants to be made aware of THOSE?]

On that subject, being a modest chap I find it tiresome that I am right all of the time!!: you haven’t mentioned Hirsch for some time now and yet the viewers STILL flock to lap up the daily stream of sensible and enlightened opinions, hard facts and sensible educated guesses that you provide for them with your ever-close attention to what has been going on in the movie world now and in the past.

So maybe the latest increase is BECAUSE Joel is NOT around these days -who knows?! As I say, I was right: you never needed him. It does strike me that when Joel is absent it’s kinda like the reverse of what I recall one critic saying about 1957’s Sayonara all those years ago “5-star movie overall but flags a bit when Brando’s not around with his charisma.”

Anyway please pass-on my congrats to also W o C in view of her continuing own big part in it all behind the scenes. They say that “behind every Great man there’ a Great [Thin!] Woman” so W o C must be an exceptional one in light of the results HER husband has achieved on this site.

By the way it’s been over 2 months since we have heard from Steve. I am thinking of sending out that search party that he and I used to round-up to look for YOU when you went AWOL for long periods. Care to join The Searchers? [Simply HAD to get The Duke into it somehow!]. I hope our Stevie has not gone the same was as Matthew Arnold’s The Scholar Gypsy in

The story of the Oxford scholar poor,
Of many talents and quick inventive brain
Who tired of knocking at preferment’s door,
    One summer-morn forsook
His friends, and went to learn the gipsy-lore,
And roamed the world with that wild brotherhood,
And came, as most men deemed, to little good,
But came to Oxford and his friends no more.

    1. Thank you Bob. I show WoC your comment….she says thank you for such kind words. Speaking of Joel….I was looking at his Ratings book the other for the first time in months. Speaking of Joel 2….I was listening to Ben Stiller on a podcast and they were talking about The Poseidon Adventure and the Oscar winning song, The Morning After….which won Joel his first Oscar. Always good to talk with another Joel fan…lol. Good stuff as always.

      1. HI JOEL JUNIOR!

        Thanks for the feedback.

No quarrel with you about Hirsch’s musical talents. I told you previously that he was a good opera critic. Also I gather that he was a dab hand at stage production.

Glad W o C was pleased. She richly deserves credit for a change instead of that husband of hers getting all the limelight!!

Indeed how much appreciation does that guy NEED? Brando once said of Bob Hope: “He’s an applause junkey. If he saw a few people queuing outside a telephone booth he’d be over cracking jokes.”

A TV interviewer mentioned to Hope Brando’s jibe and Bob retaliated “Marlon wouldn’t understand a joke if you spelt it out for him!”

Pity really because in earlier times they had been on friendly terms and had even sat together at another celeb’s wedding but I think politics became between them, Bob being a staunch Republican and Marlon a firm Democrat.

Anyway take care and enjoy your weekend.

        1. Thanks Bob. I hope you enjoy your weekend. My weekend will be a long one….just got through some minor surgery and the doctors tell me I am going to have a long difficult weekend recovery. The joys of jamming everything into my 12 week summer vacation..lol.

          1. HI WORK HORSE:

Sorry to hear about your surgery though pleased it is minor. I am crossing my fingers for your speedy recovery.

          2. Sorry to hear about your surgery. Hope that your recovery is speedy. Congratulations on 40 million views

          3. Thanks Bob and Flora…so far all is going well in the recovery. The first two days were pretty rough….but today is going so much better.
