  1. Added Steve’s Baldwin video to the page….my thoughts on his video and Baldwin’s career found on Steve’s channel…found here”

“Alec Baldwin might be the busiest actor working today…I am having a hard time keep our Baldwin page updated….I just saw a movie called Drunk Parents at a retail store….never heard of that one. We have almost 70 movies on our UMR Baldwin page….so your 35 should be good ones. Let’s see….overall…I have seen 34 of the 35…only missing #24 Pearl Harbor (and a copy sits on my DVD shelf). My youngest child loves two of these movies…and watches them all the time….Emily loves #8 Rise of the Guardians and #23 Boss Baby….she is counting down the days until Boss Baby 2 comes out…and she has not even seen the trailer yet. As for me….favorites would include #7 Beetlejucie, #5 The Hunt for Sean Connery, #10 State and Main…maybe his best comedy role and near the bottom…#30 Rock of Ages…fun movie.”

    1. Hey Bruce, thanks for the comment, vote and share, much appreciated. Pearl Harbor isn’t a great movie but it does have a stupendous battle sequence lasting about 40mins. Beetlejuice is a big favorite, watched it many times especially in the 80s and 90s. Your tally 34, mine 23, Flora 5.

      1. Hey Steve….always think your videos add value to our pages…so thanks for letting us share you work here.

  2. PART TWO As you will see form the information in Part One you would appear to have picked the right Baldwin to profile as Alec is by far the most successful member of the family, with Stephen’s daughter allegedly the 2nd richest.

Best POSTERS in your video. 1/Cats & Dogs 2/The Marrying Man – very raunchy 3/Getaway 4/Mercury Rising – Mr Gimme More in iconic form 5/Sister’s Keeper 6/two for The Shadow 7/Pearl Harbor 8/foreign language one for The Good Shepherd 9/two for Ghosts of Mississippi 10/The Cooler 11/Still Alice 12/The Aviator 13/The entire posters/stills for the Mission Impossible films 14/Born Leader /15 two for Rise of the Guardians.

Best STILLS 1/The Marrying Man 2/two for Getaway 3/Rock of Ages 4/Along came Myrna 5/Malice [my 2nd fave Alec Baldwin movie] 6/Pearl Harbor 7/Boss Baby 8/Concussion 9/with Meryl 10/Blue Jasmine 11/Alec with Sir Sean 12/The Aviator 13/Glengarry Glen Ross [my most fave among Alec’s movies] 14/with Nicole in Malice.

You and The Man with Joel’s Face agree on 5 of Alec’s 6 best reviewed films, you preferring Hunt for Red October whilst he goes for Blue Jasmine in his 6. I agree with him this time round as in fact that movie along with Midnight in Paris are my two fave Woody Allen-directed films. Anyway overall your Baldwin video had so much classy stuff in it that it’s no surprise to me that my own markings easily added up to 98% rating- in fact I’ve already watched it twice.

One surprise is though that you have excluded Working Girl, whereas The Horse ranks it 12th for Review and gives it an excellent 77% rating. It is in fact one of my favorite films starring Harrison Ford so for a 2nd time in one post I have to agree with your ‘competitor’!

    1. Hey Bob…glad you agree with me on Blue Jasmine……it happens so rarely…lol. I agree with you on Working Girl….but in fairness to Steve….Alec is only in the movie for a few scenes. With Steve only using 35….that is only about half of Baldwin’s movies. Good comment.

  3. Alec Baldwin is one of 4 siblings who are in the acting profession. Some of their comparative achievements are as follows:
    NET WORTH
    Alec $65 million
    Daniel $400,000
    William $500,000
    Stephen $500,000
Hailey $2 million – daughter of Stephen. No movies. Model and TV personality. Married to Justin Bieber.

    AWARDS/NOMINATIONS
    Alec 45/101
    Daniel 13/2
    William 3/5
    Stephen 3/5
    Hailey-None listed

    COGERSON PAGE

I have seen 10 Alec Baldwin movies.

    The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie***
    Blue Jasmine
Concussion-I had forgotten he was in that one.

***Before you have a go at me Steve the grandchildren dragged me to see these 2 though I would probably always be curious anyway about anything with Bob in the title!

    1. Hi Bob, thanks for the review, generous rating, box office info, trivia and comparison, always appreciated. Glad you enjoyed the picture gallery.

Interesting facts on the Baldwin brothers, thanks. There is another Baldwin in films and TV but it turned out he wasn’t related, forgot his name hang on… Adam Baldwin. Some of his films include Full Metal Jacket, Independence Day and Wyatt Earp.

I didn’t include Working Girl because I wasn’t sure how big Alec’s role was in that, it’s been years since I last watched it, and I had just used the poster in Harrison Fords video.

Usually if an actor is further down the credits and it’s a film I haven’t seen than I scour the IMDB comments, if nobody mentions that actor than I don’t include them. I also look at professional reviews. If it’s a walk on or cameo than, unless it’s prominent and memorable, I won’t include it.

Only one film scored 10 out of 10 in Alec’s filmography and it isn’t The Departed [cue gasps] it’s Bob’s favorite Baldwin movie – Glengarry Glen Ross.

Tops at IMDB is The Departed, no.1 at Rotten Tomatoes would you believe is – Mission Impossible 6 – Fallout. The newest Mission Impossible is the highest rated in the series, how often does that happen?

Bruce and I have the same top 3 on our charts, which is nice.

Alec on The Godfather – “It’s like a drug. It takes away your free will. You’re going to watch this movie, whether you planned on it or not.”

Alec on Hunt for Red October – “I’m glad that people like the film, but it was studio moviemaking at its most self-conscious. They told me right to my face that Kevin Costner was the person they wanted to play my part, and they couldn’t afford him. Most of the people you worked with back then were numbingly frank in that way.”

Alec on Demi Moore – “She’s one of the smartest women I’ve ever met in my life.”

Alec on Kim Basinger – “My ex-wife reaches an almost sexual level of satisfaction when she’s in a room full of high-priced lawyers.”

      1. BRUCE: To note my forthcoming holiday absence. Behave when I’m away!

STEVE: Thanks for the feedback, complete as is usual/often with explanations, additional information and interesting quotes. I especially liked your one about high-priced lawyers. My son [S o. Bob] is a lawyer so I may let him know that YOU are spreading quotes like that around and he might therefore forget about Laddie for a while and fasten onto someone else to hate. [ S o. Bob likes Brando and I have often thought of feeding S o. Bob the Master just to give Ladd a break for a while – but even I know where to draw the line on punishment!].

I hope you plan to release another video tomorrow because Sunday will be my final day for sending posts for a short while as I’m off to France on holiday for nearly 2 weeks. That probably will please Bruce as nobody else will be bothered to challenge any further crazy stuff from Hirsch that appears on this site in my absence. However I would like to think that in that absence of you will maybe be singing a paraphrasing of the classic Scottish song about their hero Bonnie Prince Charlie [played by Niven in the 1948 film of that name]-

        Bonnie Bobby’s noo awa
        Safely o’er the friendly main
Mony’s a heart will break in twa
Should he ne’er come back again
And will he no’ come back again?
Will he no’ come back again?
        Better lo’ed he canna be
Will he no’ come back again

        1. Hey Bob…hope you enjoy your two weeks in France….maybe you will run into Laurent or Pierre….lol.

          1. BRUCE

Thanks. I hope to close off with replies to your J LO and 2007 pages.

Interesting story about the Baldwins. I don’t think you went too far – in fact if it had been the Gimme Mores you would probably have baby-sat while they went on the town!

I agree with all your comments about Alec.

      2. Hey Steve…I understand your logic on Working Girl Good collections of quotes from Baldwin. The last one on Basinger is somewhat sad….I actually got to briefly meet them when they were in Wilmington, North Carolina. They arrived at the grocery store I was working it…after the store had closed…they needed baby formula for their baby…..and we let them in…which broke all kinds of rules…..but hey…..two movie stars asking for a favor…probably get that favor granted all the time….lol. They seemed like a loving caring couple that night….away from the spotlight. To show how long ago that incident was…is the fact that the “baby” that needed formula is now known for showing her naked photos on the internet. Good video and good feedback.

        1. Hey Bob….look forward to your comments on those two pages…there will be two new pages by Sunday…as we are working on new pages now…that will be released (if I do it correctly) while we are away again. We have been going away so much that SoC2 feels like he is living at the house again….as he stays here and takes care of the house in our absence.

As for my for my encounter….back then Wilmington had many movies made there….including one of Bruce’s biggest hits…Die Hard 3….though Bruce and Demi never knocked on the door after hours.

          Enjoy your trip.

          1. HI BRUCE

I’m surprised that the Gimme Mores didn’t in fact go as far as to get a restraining order against you just to be on the safe side

In the plot of an episode of TV’s Frasier one of his co-workers, Noel, was a Star Trek fanatic and had a restraining order against him forbidding him to stop pestering William Shatner!

    2. Hey Bob….yeah….I like Baldwin….but his time as a leading man was pretty short….as many of the movies did not really perform well……he has become a great character actor…..but he is not somebody that can open a movie (I am not even sure those people even exist anymore…though Leo and Brad are putting that to the test this weekend with Once Upon A Time in Hollywood). Good stats on the Baldwin brothers…..good feedback.

  4. Glad to see a Baldwin page. Another surprise on the movie count, pretty low for a legend.

    Seen: 16/66 or 24%
Favorite Top 10: The Departed, an awesome film.
UMR Snub (Too High or Too Low): The Hunt for the Red October Too High, pretty bad Jack Ryan…Mercury Rising WAY too low.
Guilty Pleasure: Beetlejuice, should be everyone’s.
    Boss Baby is listed twice

    1. He BryRog57….wow a year since you posted this comment…sorry this one got by me. 16 is not too bad for a young punk like yourself….lol. We disagree on The Departed….though….I have only seen it once….and more people agree with you on it’s greatness than me and it’s ok ness. Are you sure you are my son….you do not like The Hunt for Red October……maybe one day you will see it my way. The error of two Boss Babies has been fixed. Good point on Beetlejuice. Thanks for the feedback…it is greatly appreciated.

  5. Hey everybody,

i dont know so much Alec Baldwin so…. but may be i just can say something about him
i saw him in a film of Woody Allen with Mia Farrow and i think it is Alice and i remenbered him like a very good cinema moment,he was a ghost and maybe it was the camera of Woody Allen , maybe it was simply Alec Baldwin but i think he was really great in his scenes.
To morrow i am in Normandy where i always think about the 40.
    bye
    Pierre

    1. Hey Pierre….surprised that Alec Baldwin has not made much of an impact in France. Hope your trip to Normandy was a great one. Good feedback…sorry it took so long to respond.
