  1. First really noticed Ann-Margret in Viva Las Vegas when I was a teen, one of the better Elvis musicals of the 60s. She was gorgeous. Rumor has it she and Elvis were more than just good friends.

I’ve only seen 12 of the 37 films listed here, less than I thought. Carnal Knowledge tops the UMR chart, I have a copy of it here but I have yet to watch it, maybe this week. Tommy was an interesting film by Ken Russell but I was never much of a Who fan, The Beatles and Elvis were my faves back then. She had some good scenes in Tommy, especially memorable was her slithering around in melted chocolate.

It’s been ages since I saw The Villain (retitled Cactus Jack here in the UK) a live action Road Runner cartoon, Schwarzenegger was the dull hero and Kirk Douglas the manic over the top villain, lusting after Ann.

I don’t think I’ve seen Bye Bye Birdie or Pocketful of Miracles.

I like the photo from Viva Las Vegas you’ve posted, that song was one of the ‘visual’ highlights from that film. 🙂

    Top Marks Bruce. Voted Up.

    1. Hey Steve.
      1. Thanks for checking out my latest page.
      2. I agree with you about her in Viva Las Vegas….gorgeous does not even seem to be a strong enough word to describe her in that movie.
      3. Tally count….Richard G. (he requested this page) 27…..you 12…Flora 11…and me at the bottom with 7 movies.
      4. Carnal Knowledge is good….but not a movie that begs to be re-watched…movie is filled with not so nice characters….with Jack being the worst of the bunch.
      5. Tommy is a hard movie to finish…..but her melted chocolate scene is a classic one….probably earned her that 2nd Oscar nomination.
      6. As a teenager…I thought The Villain was a great movie…..I recently watched it again….and it was not so good this time around.
      7. Actually shocked you have not seen Bye Bye Birdie….a musical that was a box office hit….seems strange to me.
Thanks for the vote up and the comment….both are greatly appreciated.

  2. I have seen 27 out of these 37 movies. A-M was often outstanding (e.g. : “Carnal Knowledge”, “Once a Thief”, “Tommy”). In a starmaking role she also illuminated the big screen in “Bye Bye Birdie”. The first film I saw along all these is “Stagecoach”, back in 1967. I immediately fell in love with her and I will always appreciate this great lady. I have to say I’m disappointed “The Swinger” didn’t make your list as she was so sexy and beautiful in it… but I understand records could be difficult to get as this is a 50 year old movie ! Have a nice day Bruce and thanks for sharing with us your passion for film stars 🙂

    1. Hey Richard G..
      1. 27 is pretty impressive total of Ann-Margret movies……that is almost 4 times the amount that I have seen.
      2. I have not seen her Stagecoach….but I am interested in seeing that one.
      3. Once A Thief and Bye Bye Birdie are also on my list of movies to watch.
      4. I like many ….including Elvis….fell for her when she appeared in Viva Las Vegas…..thinking many fell hard for her when that one came out.
      5. Sorry about The Swinger….I wiil take another look….and see if I can find that one…..that and R.P.M. and her first Roy Scheider movie…The Other Ones are the ones I want get included in this table.
Glad you enjoyed your requested page. Thanks for the comment.

      1. Yeah, sure. I’m also waiting for “Going in Style” !!! This one shall be interesting for lots of reasons (e.g. : George Burns – who discovered A-M – was in the original film !). Thanks again Bruce. Have a nice day !
