  1. Hi, Bruce.

I have seen enough on Bruce Dern to comment although there is no point in me listing my total by ranking as the ones I have seen are all over the place.

Yes, working twice with Hitchcock is impressive. I prefer Family Plot to Marnie.

My favourite Dern movie is by far Support Your Local Sheriff. Although I enjoyed the sequel to it Support Your Local Gunfighter, I did not enjoy it as much. One reason may well be that Bruce Dern wasn’t in it.

    Cheers,

    Flora

    1. Hey Flora….thanks for checking out my Dern page. Dern has made a nice career as a supporting actor. I prefer Family Plot to Marnie too. Dern was very funny in Support Your Local Sheriff. Dern was on a radio show the other day and he was sharing some funny Hitchcock and Nicholson stories. I imagine he has lots of stories to tell from his 50 plus year movie career. As always…greatly appreciate you stopping by.

  2. This is awesome! I love Bruce Dern and now I have a whole list of movies to watch. Also, thanks to you and Debbie for putting us up. You’ll note I put movie passes in your thank you card. 🙂 Maybe you’ll use them on the new Bruce Dern movie…. It was a whirlwind weekend, but it was great to see you guys. Come visit New Mexico! Thanks again.

    1. Hey Erin. Glad you liked your requested Bruce Dern page. Glad you stayed with us. It was a short but fun visit. I will be updating this Dern page as soon as The Hateful Eight opens up. Debbie was seeing how far Hollywood was from New Mexico….so we might be taking you up on your offer.

  3. Whoa a lot more movies than I was expecting, Dern is a busy actor. One of the earliest films I remember him in was as James Garner’s prisoner in Support your Local Sheriff, where he was kept in an unfinished jail without bars or doors.
I liked him as the slightly mad spaceman determined to take good care of the domed forests in his spaceship in the classic sci-fi Silent Running.
I also liked him in Hitchcock’s last film, Family Plot. Hated him in The Cowboys. 🙂
I’ve seen… 16 of the 56 films you’ve listed, not impressive. I’ve seen Django Rides Again, sorry Django Unchained, but I haven’t seen Nebraska, Coming Home or They Shoot Horses Don’t They. A nice tribute to Bruce, Bruce. Voted Up.

    1. Hey Steve. Dern has been indeed a very busy actor. This list does not include about 30 more movies that went straight to home entertainment. I figured Silent Running would be one of the ones you liked. Dern was very good in that one…..playing a guy who liked his plants more than his fellow crew members. Working with Hitchcock twice is pretty impressive…though his role in Family Plot was much bigger and important than his brief role in Marnie. I think everybody hated him in The Cowboys…though he said some Democrats in San Francisco loved him….lol. My tally is ….counting…32 Dern movies watched or 57.14% of the movies listed. As always thanks for stopping by and talking movies

    1. Hey 234Cal….the man has been making movies for 55 years….and he stars in one of the biggest movies of the 2015 Xmas season….The Hateful Eight…that is a sign of a great career.!

  4. Dern made and makes a great villian. I saw him shot the Duke in the back. I was so mad! But sending the man death threats is just crazy.

    1. Hey Ian S. I agree with you 100%. Dern was a great villain. And yes it was crazy that people sent him death threats. Dern had a sense of humor about that at least. Thanks for stopping by.
