Drivel Part of the Page:  Yesterday during lunch I was listening to the Dan Patrick Show on the radio.  Normally the show is all about sports….but yesterday they interviewed Cameron Crowe…..and it was an awesome interview.  Crowe shared lots of behind the scenes stories (listed further down the page) of some of his iconic movies like Jerry Maguire, Say Anything, Almost Famous and Fast Times At Ridgemont High.  For the rest of the day….I thought about that interview….and decided that even though Crowe’s movie output is pretty low….that there were enough quality movies for us to do a Crowe UMR page….so here you go….our newest UMR page….Mr. Cameron Crowe.

  1. Love this page. Crowe got off to a great start but things have been a little rough for him since then. I remember watching Almost Famous all the time when it played on television. Love Jerry Maguire too. Hoping he bounces back.

    1. Hey Helakoski….glad you liked this page…..it sadly has not generated many comments…though it has a decent amount of views. I hope you are right….and a Crowe bounce back is coming…thanks for the visit and the comment.

  2. The second time I almost forgot you had a new movie page Bruce.

Only 10 films from Russell… sorry, Cameron Crowe? Not that prolific was he?

I’ve seen 6 of the 10, that’s more than half! [cue Bruce shaking his head]

The ones I’ve missed are – Elizabethtown, Singles, We Bought a Zoo and The Wild Life.

Looking at your photos Say Anything has the iconic scene with John Cusack holding the boombox, I can never remember which of his films that was.

Jerry Maguire was a favorite of mine back in the late 90s but it’s been a while since I last watched it. I remember liking Almost Famous but again its been ages since I last saw it. I have the DVD.

Vanilla Sky was moderately interesting but ultimately I wasn’t impressed. Tom Cruise’s next foray into science fiction – Minority Report – was a lot better IMO.

Another top notch movie page Bruce. Voted Up!

    1. Hey Steve….wow this Cameron Crowe page pretty much drew crickets here…I guess he is not as big as I thought….but I do appreciate you checking it out.

I am at 10 Crowe movies watched. Fast Times At Ridgemont High was one of the first R rated movies that I saw…so maybe that influenced me to see all of his movies.

Of the movies that you have missed….only Singles is worth checking out…..it is a good comedy/drama with a good cast. The other three are average at best…which describes his last movie, Aloho, too.

The boom box scene is a classic…..and one that still gets some homages today…..that is easily one of Cusack’s best performances. As for Vanilla Sky…I re-watch that one for Kurt Russell’s performance…which I find very funny.

Thanks for the Crowe feedback…it is greatly appreciated.
