  1. Mom told me last might about Penny Marshall dying. I used to watch Laverne and Shirley a lot. She also guest starred on The Odd Couple. My favourite movie of hers is A League of Their Own. Rest in Peace.

  2. Weird watching all the television stars you loved as a kid start dying. John Ritter, Phil Hartman, Mary Tyler Moore, Farrah Fawcett and today Ms.Penny Marshall. First we lose her husband, Gary, as well. Now both are gone.

    1. Hey Princess Belle….those were some television legends for sure. Garry Marshall, her brother, was a popular television and movie director….hard to believe it has already been 2 years since his passing. Sad news…thanks for sharing your thoughts on her. RIP

  3. When I was young I watched Laverne and Shirley repeats every day during the summers. I loved that show and I thought Laverne was the coolest! Wanted to be just like her when I grew up. RIP Penny Marshall. We lost a great one.

    1. Hey Sharon….I was right there with you….as growing up Laverne and Shirley was a tv show we watched as a family. Their apartment below ground level is etched in my memory forever. Rest in Peace Penny Marshall.

    1. Hey Travis….sad news indeed. Seems like only yesterday that this page was mourning the passing of Garry Marshall and now Penny. RIP.

  4. I am reading about how this page was “slow out of the gate”

No doubt that Bruce and every single one of his Marshall’s fans wish that this page had remained forever buried for years to come.

But because Marshall died, it is trending number 1.

I know that Madonna has copyright for every song she wrote and I am a big fan of her, but I do not think she would mind if I shared with the world some of her lyrics for “This Used to Me My Playground” in honour of this man in regards to the fact that he has now left us:

    COPYRIGHT: MADONNA:

“This used to be my playground
This used to my childhood dream
This used to be the place I ran to
    Whenever I was in need.

    Oh my friend.
Why did it have to end?

    ………………………………………

“But I wish that you were here with me…”

Yes indeed. WE all wish Mr. Marshall were still with us.

But through his body of work, Mr. Marshall is no dead in the same way that Shakespeare is not dead.
