  1. Saw Baby Driver yesterday with the wife. We liked it. John Hamm and Jamie Foxx are amazing. Edgar Wright is now 5 for 5.

    1. Hey Gentry. Glad you liked Baby Driver. I almost saw it last weekend but then at the last minute Spidey won out. I blame my little ones…they were all in for The Boss Baby but no interest in Baby Driver. You are right…Mr. Wright is now 5 for 5. Thanks for stopping by.

  2. jamie foxx is a 10!!. on all of the things he do,from singing to acting and most of all a sex appeal

    1. Hey Marieta….glad a Jamie Foxx fan found this page. I agree he is a multi-talented person…thanks for the comment.

  3. HI BRUCE

1 Excellent summary of Jamie’s artistic success and versatility as well as his grosses. I loved him in Collateral with Cruise but a quick glance at his stats and roles suggests that in the past few years his success in terms of box office and/or stand-alone parts has been slightly mixed.

    2. I was interested in your revelation that Denzel is Jamie’s idol as the former is one of my own faves. l Of course Jamie has now joined Washington and the others in that very welcome pantheon of African American stars who in increasing numbers nowadays have become important in various entertainment industries. Indeed I see that Jamie has also made it big on TV and this year in fact is executive producer and host of a new television Game Show. All in all therefore Jamie well deserves this new Cogerson page which I welcome.

    1. Hey Bob…..I think his excellent 2004….Collateral and Ray put him on the map as a major player in Hollywood. I was shocked when I realized his Oscar win was 13 years ago….seems it was only a few years ago at most. I imagine one day there will be a Jamie Foxx/Denzel Washington movie…and that should be one to see. Good feedback.

  4. Forgot about Miami Vice, it’s not one of my favorites. I enjoyed the 80s TV series but it’s dated a bit now. So yes make that 17 out of 32. Cheers.

Stealth did not fare well on your charts, it was a bit of a flop too. I remember there was another big action film out at about the same time – Michael Bay’s The Island, and that failed to ignite with audiences too. I think star power might helped those films, or maybe it wouldn’t make a difference.

    1. Hey Steve…..not only did Miami Vice fizzle out at the box office…Foxx and Colin Farrell did not get along at all during the filming of the movie. As much as I like Ewan McGregor…..his box office power is suspect….unless he has a lightsaber…lol.

  5. Hi Bruce, good to see the UMR machine is running smoothly these days.

But you must have been in a hurry when you put together Foxx’s page, you’ve left out two big action movies he was in and they weren’t cameos. When it comes to action movies I’m the man to see, he shamelessly replied. I’ll take a good car chase over some mawkish waffle any day.

Where is Law Abiding Citizen and Stealth? They weren’t huge hits but they are listed at box office mojo. I have Stealth on blu-ray, good action and deafening surround sound.

I’ve seen 14 of the 29 films listed, or 16 of the 31, if you count the two I mentioned earlier.

Have to confess I never saw his Oscar winning movie – Ray, just wasn’t interested in it, or the music. And I haven’t seen Ali either. There’s only one Muhammad Ali and it’s not Will Smith.

Oh well at least you remembered Collateral. [Bruce snarls] 😉

    Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve
      1. Hmmm….not sure what is going on….that is the third or fourth time that the database is dropping movies when I go to the import section of my website. I feel like the Russian cosmonaut in Armageddon…..his ship is falling apart…and he is resorting to hitting the equipment with a wrench to get it to work.
      2. You are right…originally Law Abiding Citizen and Stealth were not on the table…not to mention Miami Vice….at the top I listed there were 32 movies on the table…then the table only lists 29…..maybe I should have caught that…..thanks for the catch. Things are fixed now.
      3. Yep that is the 4th page in 10 days….but I would argue I was generating new material in June….just taking a small break from the comments.
      4. So assuming you have seen Miami Vice….I will go with your tally being at 17. I am at….counting…26…and Baby Driver is high on my list of movies to watch.
      5. Stealth which was not listed originally….comes in dead last on the UMR score….my idol Roger Ebert would be happy with that ranking…as he hated that movie….even earning a spot in his Your Movie Sucks book.
      6. I have seen Ali and Ray….he is outstanding at Ray….I was thinking that movie was 4 or 5 years ago….realizing it is already 13 years seems strange….boy does time fly. As for Ali….good movie….but I confess I do not remember Foxx’s part in that one.
Thanks again for the heads up on the missing movies…..it takes a village…lol.
