Need to know which John Goodman movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.

John Goodman (1952-) is an American actor.  He first gained fame for playing Dan Connor on the television show, Rosanne, from 1988 to 1997.   Over the last 30 years he has become of the busiest and best character actors working in movies.  His IMDb page shows an incredible 145 acting credits since 1983. This page will rank 75 John Goodman movies.  Movies will be ranked from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television shows, shorts, cameos and movies that were not released in theaters in North America were not included in the rankings.

Drivel part of the page:  This John Goodman page comes from a request by Dan. When researching this page I was very surprised to see that 1984’s C.H.U.D. was one of his movie credits (no memory of his part at all). C.H.U.D. is a movie me and my sons have always enjoyed even though it is a truly horrible movie.  Never heard of C.H.U.D.?…well maybe if I tell you that it stands for “Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller” might help. Still not helping?  Well just know it was a proud day when we were finally able to include C.H.U.D. on our movie website.

  1. John Goodman, is the # 51 most connectible actor of the 2000’s, and the # 52 most connectible of the 2010’s.

  2. Makes sense to me. Just checked our database….we have 7 of his movies in our database. Hope you track down Argo in the near future.

  3. Popular John Goodman gets his movie page. What was the first film I saw him in.. let me think… it must have been Always, or Sea of Love, which came out first?

I’ve seen 36 of the 70 films listed, I must have beaten Bruce’s tally let me check… damn it, lost again. My fault for watching the same 1000 films over and over again in rotation. 🙂

Favorites include – Arachnophobia, Sea of Love, Monsters Inc, The Big Lebowski (not one of Bruce’s favorites) Speed Racer and the sublime Transformers Dawn of Extinction, or is it Age of the Fallen? I can never remember these titles.

Movies I’ve not yet seen – Inside Llewyn Davis, Punchline and Beyond the Sea.

Most recent Goodman movie I’ve seen was 10 Cloverfield Lane, which was interesting but not a great movie, Goodman was very good in that though. I also saw Trumbo, I liked it because I knew about Dalton Trumbo and the communist witchhunts, but again not a great movie.

Good work as always Bruce. Voted Up.

    1. Hey Steve.
      1. Raising Arizona was the first movie I noticed him in….but looking at the movies listed here…I had already seen him in 4 other movies before seeing that one…hard to believe that I never noticed him.
      2. Tally count…me 42….Steve 36….actually pretty close…Flora 5…..pretty soon you will be able to sing our National Anthem….lol. Don’t worry there is a Robert Taylor page in which you will destroy my total.
      3. Yep…no matter how many times I watch The Big Lebowski….it just does not register with me….but Goodman’s character is actually pretty good in that one…..crazy as hell…but pretty good.
      4. Punchline is ok at best…..Inside Llewyn Davis was also pretty average….I have not seen Beyond the Sea.
      5. Thanks for the mini-review on 10 Cloverfield Lane….glad to know that Goodman is good in that one….though not surprising at all….when is he not good in a movie.
Thanks for the visit, the comment and the votes. All are of course greatly appreciated.
