Requests

requests1

Thankfully we get lots of requests for new pages.  Well…the wife recently informed me that my way of collecting my requests was pretty weak.  She seems to think that writing down requests on whatever piece of paper or napkin or bill that is currently on my desk is not the way to do it.  So….since she is way smarter than me….I have decided to create a page just for requests.  Plus it should give a good idea of what pages are coming down the pike.

My logic in picking which page to do next….I lean heavily towards the subject that has the most requests.

  • Roger Corman – request by Dan
  • Peter Cushing – request made by SteveLensman, Dan & Brando 90
  • Disney Live Action 1967-1980 – request by Mimic
  • Foreign Movies requested by Laurent
  • Samuel Goldwyn – request by Dan
  • Sam Katzman – request by Dan
  • Fritz Lang – request by Lupino, Just Me
  • Bruce Lee – request by Brando 90
  • Harold Lloyd – request by Søren, Me
  • Henry Mancini – request by Flora
  • Patricia Medina – request by Dan
  • Mirisch Brothers – request by Dan
  • Edward Small – request by Dan
  • Rudolph Valentino – request by Laurent

Completed requests:

Many more to come…have to find all of my old napkins and transfer the requests to this page.

  1. Hey Dan
    1. This is a return comment on both your Ruth Roman and Rhonda Fleming comments.
    2. Lots and lots of information here.
    3. Based on the names and lengths of information….it looks like Ruth Roman had a more substantial career than Fleming.
    4. In the Bess Flowers competition..poor Rhonda only got to be in 2 movies with Bess….while Roman….got to be in 8 movies.
    5. Oscar winning co-stars – Ruth 28 and Rhonda 22
    6. Looking at the first lists…..Rhonda will soon have nobody left….while Ruth (thank you John Savage) should be connected to the current list for a very long time.
Interesting to see this information….I will be sure to remember it….when Ruth and Rhonda get their very own UMR pages.
    Thanks for sharing this information.

  2. Good Morning Mr. Cogerson,

My next request please for box office data is Yvonne De Carlo.

I didn’t know the 1960s box office stats were difficult.

    Thx

    Mike

    1. Hey Mike…I will see what I have on her. As for the 1960s and 1970s….basically we have Variety and movie books….other than that…..there are no ledgers to use….which if Variety does not list in their Top Grossers…then it is going to be difficult to find a number. I am always on the lookout for more sources from those years.

      1. Yvonne De Carlo is no longer on the IMDB top 1000 Center of the Hollywood List. However, back in 2000 when the first list was done she was # 192. These are the people on the 2016 list who appeared in a film with her.

Curio – Al Lewis who played her father on the Munsters was actually younger than her. Al lied about his age in the 1960’s stating he was born in 1910. When he died it was revealed he was born in 1923 one year after Yvonne. He figured she would feel weird with a younger guy playing her father. If you watch him in Car 54 which ended 1 year before the Munsters debuted, he’s a bit younger looking.
