Nice selection. I have enjoyed all of his movies. He is one of the most consistent directors working the last 35 years. His last movie, The Walk, did not do well at the box office, but it is a wonderful film. A enjoyable page.

Hey Bruce I thought you’d done a page on Robert Zemeckis ages ago, I thought wrong.
For a while he was considered the new Spielberg with a series of very successful movies leading up to the Oscar winning Forrest Gump, his biggest hit grossing over a billion in adjusted dollars.
There are just 3 films from the 18 listed that I haven’t seen – Allied, Used Cars and I Wanna Hold Your Hand.
Top favorites are Romancing the Stone, the Back to the Future trilogy, Roger Rabbit, Contact and Beowulf but I enjoyed the others too and I have most of them on Blu-ray.
Forrest Gump heads the UMR chart as expected and Back to the Future the critics chart, nice. I’m not the biggest Gump fan as Bruce knows, I have the film on DVD and Blu-ray but it’s not one I watch often.
I didn’t know he was set to direct Cocoon, I’m a fan of Ron Howard’s geriatric sci-fi adventure and I’m glad Zemeckis directed Back to the Future instead.

2. So your tally is at 15….I am at 16. I have not seen I Wanna Hold Your Hand or Allied (I will see that one when it hits DVD)….but Used Cars is worth finding…..especially if you can find a DVD with a great commentary. It was Kurt Russell’s first adult leading role….and it is a blast…and it has aged pretty well…for a movie that is now almost 40 years old.
3. I was showing Debbie the page….and the power of Zemeckis is the fact that she was aware of almost every movie in the table….trust me that does not happen much.
4. Your Deja Vu feeling is from previous comments on the Tom Hanks page, the Best Picture Oscar Winning page ….both pages drew out your dislike of the movie….and then surprisingly many people joined in that thought…it still confuses me….lol.
5. I have been doing so much research on the Warner Brothers ledgers…that I realized I had been ignoring current people…and felt I should get a new one out….and Zemeckis popped into my head.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit and the Back To The Future movies pretty much define my childhood. I used to think Christopher Lloyd was the greatest actor ever. Hard to believe that was 30 years ago.
Hey Alexander…..Christopher Lloyd was on a roll back then. I imagine he would seem like a leading man when you watched those movies back then. For awhile Lloyd was headed to the supporting actor Hall of Fame…and then he pretty stopped making major movies. I have always liked him from One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest to Taxi to the ones you liked so much. Glad you found this page and commented.

Hey e. Kelly…..very cool…..surprised you found this page so quickly….as I have not gotten around to sharing the page to my social media outlets…so congrats on being the first one here. I have seen 15 of his movies…..obviously Allied is not out yet….but I have not seen I Wanna Hold Your Hand or A Christmas Carol. Strangely we own a 3D version of A Christmas Carol….but nobody in the house every wants to watch that one….even during Xmas season. Maybe it will finally be watched this upcoming holiday season.
As for your Top 5….I really like 4 of the ones you mentioned…..I thought Contact was ok…..but not enough to bump Forrest Gump, Used Cars or Back To The Future 2 out of their higher spots in my rankings…..thanks for sharing your favorites and thanks for commenting.
