Tim Conway (1933-2019) was an American actor, writer and producer.  Although primarily known for his television work, he has managed to star in motion pictures for the last 53 years. His IMDb page shows 124 acting credits from 1960 to 2017. Drivel part of the page:  Tim Conway? Really?  I can hear Steve Lensman all the way from across the big pond that separates us asking those questions.  Well…if you had asked little Cogerson in the 1970s who were the biggest stars in Hollywood….he would have answered John Wayne and…drumroll…..Tim Conway.  I thought Tim Conway was the funniest man on the planet….heck based on the power of Conway…for years I was convinced Gus (you know….the kicking mule football player Disney film) was the greatest movie ever made.  Even now when I see him on television, in a You Tube video or in an old movie….a smile develops on my face.  So even if this page only entertains me…..going to give Mr. Tim Conway some UMR love.

  1. I actually remember seeing a few episodes of his TV show the Tim Conway show where he worked at an airline with Joe Flynn. Never saw Rango ( his western comedy series circa 1966) but Gus is an alltime favorite, seen it 5 times. Used to like the forgotten Liberty Williams who was the girl That Gary Grimes ended up with in the picture. She was in a lot of TV commercials back then and starred as Tabitha Stevens in a failed potential Tabitha series (only the pilot). Later they got Tabitha on the air with Lisa Hartman and Bob Urich and it was terrible.

    1. Hey Dan. Other than his appearances on The Carol Burnett Show and reruns of McHale’s Navy I have not seen many of his television series. And I thought I was a big Tim Conway fan. I can see a McHale’s Navy reunion of Flynn and Conway would be some good television. Good old Gus. For the longest time, I thought Gus was the best movie ever made. Today I find it brutal to watch. So much for Kid Cogerson’s movie tastes…lol. Interesting about Tabitha. The late Robert Urich had some good television shows but he also had some clunkers. Thanks for sharing this thoughts on Tim Conway’s memorial page. RIP.

    1. Hey Scott…..I remember he was going to be on Married With Children….not thinking I ever saw he on the show. I will have to see if I can catch one of his appearances on that show. Thanks for stopping by on this very sad day.
