Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.

When we first got a request to do a movie page on Tom Hardy (1977-) we did not think it was one that we would write anytime soon.  Now it seems that Hardy is in almost every movie these days.  In a short time, Hardy has built up a pretty good resume.  He was part of the excellent cast in Black Hawk Down (2001), he kicked Captain Picard’s butt in Star Trek: Nememis (2002), he locked horns with a future James Bond in Layer Cake (2005), he appeared in the blockbuster Inception (2010), he fought the new Captain Kirk over a girl in This Means War (2012) and he kicked Batman’s butt in The Dark Knight Rises (2012).  In 2015 he starred in 5 different films….including taking over one of Mel Gibson’s most famous roles in Mad Max:Fury Road.

His IMDb page shows 51 acting credits from 2001-2017. This page will rank 20 Tom Hardy movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television shows, shorts, cameos and movies that were not released in North American theaters were not included in the rankings.

    1. Hey Bryan…I have seen any of the Peaky Blinders show……but it has some awesome IMDb ratings…I will have to check that so out. Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Hi Bob, thanks for reviewing and rating my Tom Hardy video, appreciate the trivia and comparisons. Happy you enjoyed the picture gallery.

According to wikipedia Tom was born in London but is of Irish descent.

I first noticed him as Captain Picard’s evil clone in ‘Star Trek Nemesis’, when I saw him in ‘Bronson’ a few years later I was shocked at how good he was, a complete nutcase. Gary Oldman all over again! ?

He was also effective as Leonardo DiCaprio’s nemesis in The Revenant, earning him his only Oscar nomination so far.

He had good reviews for Warrior but I haven’t seen that one yet. I agree he was very good playing both the Kray twins though the film itself was not as good.

Two of Hardy’s films scored 10 out of 10 from my sources – Dunkirk and The Revenant. No 9s but there are 8 scoring 8 out of 10.

Inception tops IMDBs Tom Hardy chart and Dunkirk is no.1 at Rotten Tomatoes, both films directed by Christopher Nolan.

“Gary Oldman is my hero, that’s it. When I went to drama school everybody used to quote him in all his films, you know State of Grace right through to Léon: The Professional or whatever. So to work with him, for him to look me in the eye, talk to me… acknowledge I exist! Cos I’m not star struck by people, but Gary just took the wind right out of me. I was shocked to actually be working with him. Then for him to actually like me, and to work three times with him – cos we did Lawless afterwards. This is a man that I’ve stolen everything that I’ve done from, like Bronson and Stuart: A Life Backwards. That’s me trying to emulate what Gary’s done, and to work with him makes me feel like I don’t have any characters of my own. [laughs] ”

Tom on going to drama school with Michael Fassbender – “Yeah, Fassbender was two years above me at drama school and he was the guy. Everybody wanted to be like him. He was really, really good. He was a special student in the third year, and then he left and I didn’t see him again until we did Band of Brothers. I remember when we were there, he was doing the play “The Silver Tassie”, a character who lost his legs in World War I, and he was spending a lot of time in a wheelchair. We only had half an hour for lunch and Michael would spend forever getting through the line in his wheelchair, so we’d all be like “Come on, Michael! Just order your food, man!” And he’d spin around in his wheelchair and yell, “F**k off!”. It was always in the cards for Michael. I’m not surprised about him at all, because he was awesome. Me, I don’t know how I got here! I feel like I just came from delivering pizza and I got lucky.”

  2. Added Steve’s latest You Tube video…Mr. Tom Hardy.

I have seen 16 or 64% of his movies. Seen #21, #20, #17, #15 #14, #13, #12, #10, #9, and #7 through #1. While I enjoyed #4 Dark Knight Rises, #3 Dunkirk and #2 Mad Max:Fury Road….they are not my favorite Hardy movies. That honor would go to #1 Inception, #7 Black Hawk Down …one of my all-time favorite movies and #14 Legend. Legend might have his best…or should I say….best two performances. I thought #21 Child 44 was a good thriller. #10 Rock N Rolla should have been better. #6 Warrior is a good movie but not better than Black Hawk Down which is ranked one spot below here….but even worse in my rankings…as it comes in 10th place when looking at my Hardy page. Voted up and shared.

    1. Hi Bruce, glad you’re happy with the no.1, surprised it’s not no.1 on your chart. Mad Max Fury Road was Oscar nominated for Best Picture and Best Director, and won 6 Oscars! Warrior has had good reviews but I still haven’t seen it. I’ve seen 15 of the 25, favorites include – Inception, Mad Max, Black Hawk Down, RocknRolla, Dark Knight Rises and Star Trek Nemesis (which btw is one of my least favorite Treks). Thanks for commenting, appreciate the vote and share.
