I saw 5 including top 4. 10 and favorite little women. 9 and favorite watch on the rhine. 9s not favorites 20,00 leagues under the sea, dodsworth. hidden gem the lady vanishes an 8.
I recently viewed “Watch on the Rhine”(guided by UMR) . I wept. very impacting. fabulous performances by Lukas and bette davis. the ending had to be adjusted to pass the censors because of “unpunished crime” not allowed in movies in the 40’s (in contrast to today when the average superhero kills dozens with no criminal consequence). for me a moving historical novel of the horrors of war and its impact on a heroic family.
I have seen 21 Paul Lukus movies including 8 of the top 10 and 12 of the top 15.
The HIGHEST rated movie I have sen is Dodsworth.
