Bruce, Interesting Interview. Personally, I think you sound more like Matthew McConaughey than you do Ron Howard. Just wish you would have talked more about some of the pages dedicated to some of the other classic Hollywood legends and not just Hitchcock and the folks who rank VERTIGO as the best movie of all time.

Hey Greg…..I had some notes in front of me…..and the fact that classic actors are the big view getters for me was listed there…..especially how I was so against even doing any classic subjects at the beginning….just never saw an opening to include it……I am just glad I got some WoC love in at the end….I barely got that in….lol. Wow…..another one for McConaughey…..”Alright Alright Alright”….good to know. Thanks for checking out the interview and thanks for the kind words.

Liked hearing the history and influences of your website. As a fairly new reader it helped fill in some blanks for me. Still not sure why Joel Hirschorn is disliked so much here. My uncle used to read the Bill James books. Your site has become a frequent internet stop.

Hey Taylor glad a “fairly new reader” enjoyed our Podcast with Black EyELand. Glad it filled in some blanks for you. As for the “anti-Joel” stuff…..most is good natured. In his book Rating the Movie Stars…..his overall rankings on some legends like John Wayne and Marlon Brando disturbed some readers. Joel’s essay on Brando is not too flattering….though Brando is shown not once but twice on the book cover. So everytime I mention Joel and his book….it stirs up the memories of his Wayne and Brando thoughts. As for Bill James….I think he has been an influence on many people….the entire new way to look at baseball can be traced back to him. One day I feel he will be in the Baseball Hall of Fame….imagine that….a stat man in the Hall of Fame…I love it. Good comment.

Thank you Mr. Cogerson for explaining the “anti-Joel” stuff. I have never heard of Joel before, but I have heard of Bill James.

Bruce, I listened to the entire thing while exercising so I missed the accompanied pictures. Good stuff. Thanks for the shout out.

To me your voice sounded quite a bit like…. Matthew McConaughey… especially from Interstellar. So if you dub your voice over scenes from Chris Nolan’s epic sci-fi, no one will know the difference. Maybe you can find a job as Matthews voice double? 😉
