Going In Style (2017)

What is Going in Style about?  Desperate to pay the bills and come through for their loved ones, three lifelong pals (Alan Arkin, Morgan Freeman & Michael Caine) risk it all by embarking on a daring bid to knock off the very bank that absconded with their money.

Sir Michael Caine is one of our Top 3 Movie Stars.  At 84….not sure how many more wide releases we can expect from him….so we figured we would give his latest movie, Going In Style, it’s very own UMR page.  On this page we have links to our just updated UMR pages on Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Ann-Margaret.  There are also links to the official trailer as well as the one of the best promotional interviews the trio of Freeman, Caine and Arkin have give in the last couple of weeks.

Going in Style is projected to end up ranked 43rd of 66 Morgan Freeman movies.

The interview link is very funny. Love seeing the three of them interacting. Poor Matt can’t get a word in.

Going in Style eh, not something I’d see in the cinema but I will watch it at home later in the year. Caine and Freeman must be really good friends by now, they’ve already done three Batman and two Now You See It movies together.

Michael Caine: “Ageism in Hollywood must be getting ‘better’ – I’m still the lead in movies”

I can’t post the link here but if you google ‘Michael Caine Ageism’ there is a short interview with Caine and Freeman in the Telegraph newspaper.

Hey Steve…I will check out that video…..I spent last night watching a couple hours of their press interviews….with the above Today one being the highlight.

I am actually going to see the movie this weekend….reviews have been lukewarm at best….but this might be the last lead role wide release in Caine’s career….no way am I going to not see it in theaters.

Yep…Caine and Freeman have quietly been working together pretty much non stop since Batman Begins.

As always thanks for the comment and the visit. 5 more hours to Spring Break….not that I am counting….lol.

BRUCE Well a guy that can’t get a knighthood mus be given some concessions. Seriously though I can’t wait to see the full movie as Morg, Sir M and Arkin are always splendid to watch. I think I told you before that in the late 1970s the collective view of film historians and leading critics was that the 4 greatest actors of all time were Olivier, Brando, Paul Scofield – and Alan Arkin! How times change, Arkin and Scofield are rarely mentioned nowadays so it’s great to see Alan popping up again in a movie with 2 modern Greats. .

Hey Bob..I am right there with you….WoC, BERN1960 and I are seeing it sometime this weekend….even if we just lost or babysitter…..heck….many even the two little girls will go to.

Yep….Caine might be second billed….but he has the most Oscars..2 to 1 to 1….lol.

Arkin might be an interesting person to do an UMR page. Like Caine he has been starring in movies since the 1960s.

Lately things have been so crazy…all my UMR pages get started….but not finished….working on a Top Person Movie Page….I have got 54 of the movies written….but still have 55 more to go. Then I started on a Rosalind Russell page….down to only needing 10 of her movies researched.

Thanks for the feedback…good stuff as always.
