It’s so unjust that the great Jeanette MacDonald never received an Oscar nomination. The Oscar voters nominated 4 of her movies for a Best Picture Oscar, but never for her. She should have gotten a nomination for San Francisco. Her song after the quake is one of the great movie moments. She was awesome impressive in Maytime. At least you have given her a nice tribute job well done!

Hey Norma W……good observations on her and her lack of Oscar nominations. Sadly I have not seen many of her movies….but I agree she was pretty impressive in San Francisco. I will have to check out Maytime…thanks for the visit and the comment….both are greatly appreciated.

Hi Bruce, another actress I knew little about and thanks to your fact filled tribute I now know a little bit more.

Looking at the chart I’ve seen just one of her films, any guesses? Here’s a clue – Gable, Tracy and a great big earthquake.

I’m happy to see San Francisco tops all the charts. I’ve seen clips of some of those musicals in the superb MGM compilation That’s Entertainment! and it’s sequel.

8 films with Nelson Eddy, whoa! Vote Up!

Hey Steve…..well….we are tied at 1…..and it is the same 1….lol. I have not even seen the clips of her movies…..I will have to check out one of her musicals. Actually…..hold on…..I just realized I have seen The Love Parade…..so I actually double your output….doing the happy dance. Granted I did not enjoy The Love Parade at all…..but for one of the first musicals it was good to see. As always….I appreciate your comment and visit.

One of my mom’s favorites. I have attached this to the Jeanette/Nelson fan page I am a proud member of. Love this work. Though I question some of the placements of the movie.

Been really breaking down these numbers. Some of her box office grosses are sensational. Sad to see I married an angel so low. I have always liked their last movie together. Once again thanks for putting this together.

Hey Tami….I agree many of her box office grosses are very sensational. Sorry that I Married An Angel is so low…..but it was the final Eddy movie….so I can see that the box office totals would be low compared to their other movies. I am sure if I Married An Angel was a hit….there would have been 9 Jeanette/Eddy movies. Thanks for the return visit.
