Lizabeth Scott (1922-2015) was an American actress, known for her distinct voice and her many roles in the film noir genre of the 1940s and 1950s.  Of her 22 films, she was the leading lady in all but one.  We were able to find box office grosses on 20 of her movies.  1951’s Two of a Kind and 1952’s Stolen Face escaped us.  Her IMDb  page shows 31 acting credits from 1945 to 1972.  This page ranks 20 Lizabeth Scott movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. 1. Hey Dan
      1. Well…if she got to work with Michael Caine…then she had a great career…lol.
      2. I saw the Bridges (Jeff, Beau and their mother Dorothy) in the credits for The Company She Keeps….they play extras in a train station scene…..so I think it is fair to say that it is a stretch to say they were co-stars.
      3. Now her part in Pulp is much bigger….so her appearance with Caine is very warranted.
      4. Scott was Bogie’s co-star in Dead Reckoning….Caine got his last name from Bogie’s movie..The Caine Mutiny……I wonder if that came up on the set of Pulp?
      5. Caine will keep Scott connected to the current list for many more years….in some ways I view your lists as a part of the Mexican…Day of the Dead ceremony…..as long as they are connected to somebody on the current list…then they are remembered and still having a good time…..but once the last person falls off the list….watch out…lol.
      6. Good ole Bess Flowers…coming back with a vengeance…..6 movies with Lizabeth Scott….an impressive total.
      7. 16 for 22 movies is a good percentage when looking at Oscar winners…but not nearly impressive as Sal Mineo’s percentage on your previous page.
Excellent information! Thanks as always for sharing it.

  2. I have seen 9 Lizabeth Scott movies. That’s a low total for a film noir fan, but hopefully more films become available to me.

The HIGHEST Rated film I have seen is The Strange Love of Martha Ivers.

The highest rated film I have NOT seen is Desert Fury.

The LOWEST rated film I have seen is Easy Living.

Lots of Favourite Lizabeth Scott Movies:

The Strange Love of Martha Ivers
    Pitfall
    Too Late For Tears
    Dead Reckoning
    I Walk Alone
    The Racket

Other Lizabeth Scott Movies I’ve Seen:
    The Company She Keeps
    Easy Living

    1. I forgot to mention Pulp as one of the movies I have seen. It is not a favourite, although quite worth the look. Sorry, Bruce. I know you love Michael Caine. Not sure why I forgot to mention it. I certainly did in my comment on Steve’s YouTube video.

      1. Shocked and disappointed Flora…forgetting a Caine movie…..I hope I can get over that one day…lol. Actually I know it can get confusing when going through these lists sometime. Pulp is far from being one of Michael Caine’s great movies.

    2. Hey Flora…thanks for checking out Lizabeth Scott page. I bet when the week started…you did not think you would be talking about her so much this week. A video and now this page. Tally count: Flora 10 (counting Pulp), Bob 7 (Bob with a tally count…proud day), Greg 5, Steve 5 and me at 3. Not too impressive for me…lol. Of your favorites…I have seen Martha Ivers and Dead Reckoning….years ago you suggested I check out…Ivers….and I did. I liked it…and seeing a young Kirk Douglas is an added bonus. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Ms. Scott…it is greatly appreciated.

  3. Well it didn’t take you long Bruce, a shiny new movie page, nice!

Looking at the chart, I’ve seen just 5 – Dark City, Dead Reckoning, I Walk Alone, Scared Stiff and Loving You.

Being an Elvis fan Loving You is easily my favorite movie from the 5. The movie contains some great rock n roll songs and it’s the King’s first film in color.

Dark City wasn’t one of Charlton Heston’s best films IMO, he was quite young and I think it was his first big movie role.

I liked Scared Stiff, one of the better Martin & Lewis comedies, a remake of the Bob Hope / Paulette Goddard comedy Ghost Breakers which was a lot better.

We have the same no.1 on our charts – Martha Ivers, probably best known to film fans as Kirk Douglas film debut. Never saw it.

Good (fast) work Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve. Your video got me motivated to do a page on her as well…plus as Bob…has mentioned…I had 17 of her 22 movies already in the database. So glad WoC convinced me to do the database…versus keeping some notebooks. I have only seen Dead Reckoning of the five you have seen. I have not seen Dark City….but maybe one day I will. Hmmmm….I though you and Flora got me to watch Martha Ivers…I guess it was just Flora. Good feedback as always.

Hey Bob…thanks for sharing these movie memories of your childhood…..I bet I have the same memories of music videos that you have on Fleming, Gable and Trotter. For me it was Pat Benatar on MTV…I was so in love with her. You are correct..maybe one day there will be a Trotter UMR page….at this point…my entire Trotter knowledge is the poster that got shared yesterday. Good stuff. And now I go to work.

    1. Thank you Bob for moving these comments. I feel they will last a lot longer here. Plus…as the videos get replaced on the Steve UMR Video Page…the comments there do not make much sense. You are the man.

Hi Bob, thanks for the posts, comments and review of my Lizabeth Scott video, appreciate the generous rating, info and trivia.

I thought Liz would make an interesting video subject, film noir produces striking movie posters and she’s certainly easy on the eyes. A shame she had only appeared in 22 movies.

I think Bruce could easily produce pages on Liz and Mary Astor. I think we can forgive him if he can’t find the box office figures for some of these films, particularly Astor’s silent movie output. Bruce can still list the problematic films and rate them too, just leave the box office boxes empty, or add ‘N/A’ in their place.

Only one of Scott’s films scored 10 and that was the Strange Love of Martha Ivers in which she was third billed.

There are no 9s, four films scored 8 out of 10 – Pitfall, Dead Reckoning, Silver Lode and Easy Living.

No.1 at IMDB is Martha Ivers, tops at Rotten Tomatoes is Pitfall.

Flora has requested a video on Audrey Totter.

    1. Bob, good work moving our posts to Bruce’s Lizabeth Scott page. Cheers.

See how quickly he can turn out new pages? The man’s a miracle I tells ya! 😉
