Norman Lloyd Movies

Norman Lloyd (1914-2021) was an American actor, producer and director with a career in entertainment spanning nine decades. He has worked in every major facet of the industry including radio, theater, television and film dating back to the Great Depression, and at 103 years of age is the oldest working Hollywood actor.   He current has a role on the television series The Fly.  His IMDb page shows 69 acting credits since 1939.   This page ranks 29 Norman Lloyd movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television shows, bit parts and his movies not released in North America theaters are not included in the rankings.

Drivel part of the page:  So why a Norman Lloyd page?  He is hardly a household name and even in his “prime” he was “just” a top notch “supporting” player.  Well….we were thinking of doing a list of the oldest living UMR subjects.   Olivia de Havilland (age 102) and Kirk Douglas (101) would have topped that list.  So as we were thinking of older thespians…Norman Lloyd popped into our minds even though he did not have an UMR page.   The more we thought of Lloyd’s longevity the more we thought he needed a page.  He was in, not one, but two Alfred Hitchcock movies (major cool points here).  His career started in 1939…and 79 years later he is still acting.  If he can act another 16 months he would be the first (?) actor to have an IMBd credit in TEN different decades.   We found these pieces of trivia interesting….and now you know why Norman Lloyd jumped everybody in the UMR request line and got an UMR page.

  • Sort Norman Lloyd movies by yearly domestic box office rank

      1. Hey Dan….that is a great trivia nugget on Mickey Rooney. Sir Michael Caine is sitting at 7 decades…if he makes it to 8 decades he will be 97 and still working.

    1. Hey Dan. I was reading an aritcle of oldest living Hitchcock actors and Nehemiah Persoff was the oldest. I am not too aware of him….maybe he needs an UMR page in the near future. I am guessing that he has lots of movies since he has the 825th spot on the Oracle list. Good feedback as always.

    1. Hey Dan. Good memory about their being a Marsha Hunt page. I do not even remember writing that page….so many pages written now. Good feedback as always.

  1. RIP Norman Lloyd. 106 years old!

Who’s the next oldest reasonably well known actor still alive? Eva Marie Saint?

    1. Hey Steve….thanks for checking out our Norman Lloyd tribute page. Sad news about his passing. As for oldest well known actor….that is a great question. It might be Eva Marie Saint. Dan has pointed out that Marsha Hunt is the oldest living thespian with an UMR page. I would say Eva is more popular than Marsha. RIP.
