UMR Review of Vice (2015)
I am a huge Bruce Willis fan. That being said I had heard some pretty horrible stuff about this movie. Actually when I first read about the movie I thought a new spin on the Yul Brynner hit movie Westworld sounded like a good idea. Those good thoughts were crushed when I saw the first trailor.
In this one Bruce runs a fantasy world that allows rich people to act out their deepest sinful desires. The victims of these sinful desires are a group of robots that Bruce controls. Thomas Jane plays a cop that does not like Vice world….and Ambyr Childers plays a robot that goes out of control.
I thought the first hour reached the lofty level of “it is alright”. The final third of the movie fails to substain that level. Overall the action is pretty silly. The story is pretty average. Bruce looks somewhat bored in this one. Thomas Jane looks somewhat embarrased. Final thought: This is not a good movie…..but it is not as bad as some would make you think. I have now seen every Bruce Willis movie ever made.
