  1. Missed this one. I like his brand of comedy. Snarky comedy. Tommy Boy was a favorite growing up. He made a great team with Chris Farley. Seen his new talkshow a few times, it is actually pretty funny.

    1. Hey Taylor. Glad you found our David Spade page. We have been putting out lots of new pages lately so I could see how you might miss one. Good feedback on Mr. Spade. Tommy Boy is probably his most famous movie role. I agree he and Farley made a good team. Good feedback.

  2. He is hit and miss with me. I think he is better in small doses than as a leading man. He is funny in Tommy Boy. My favorite interaction in that movie.

Chris Farley: Did you hear I finally graduated?
David Spade: Yeah, and just a shade under a decade too. All right.
Chris Farley: You know a lot of people go to college for seven years.
David Spade: I know, they’re called doctors.

    1. Hey SteinHoF16….5 comments in one day….very cool. He actually has not made many movies that he was the leading man. Good quote from Tommy Boy…I remember that scene in the movie. Good stuff. Don’t be a stranger.

  3. I probably know David Spade best from the couple of films he made with Chris Farley and I think I only saw one of those, Tommy Boy? If that makes any sense.

I’ve seen 8 of the 28 films on the chart, more than I thought. Favorites are – Hotel Transylvania 1-2-3 and The Emperor’s New Groove.

I watched Grown Ups 1 & 2 on cable a few weeks ago, they did made me laugh out loud a couple of times but they were bad, oh yeah, even by Adam Sandler’s usually low standards, just a randomly connected series of juvenile comedy sketches of people breaking wind, tripping over and falling into lakes.

    Good stuff Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve….good comment on Mr. David Spade. I have seen 19 of his movies….actually a little lower than I would have guessed. Of your favorites…the Hotel Transylvania movies get played pretty often around this house…especially around Halloween time…which is less than two months away. Grown Ups has a few laughs in them….but they all revolve around slapstick physical comedy. I thought his Dickie Roberts movie had some nice moments….with an excellent end credit scene. Good stuff as always.

          1. Hey Taylor. Dickie Roberts was an ok movie, this video might be the best part. Glad you enjoyed it.

  4. HIs Top 6 are all voice roles. Not sure that happens too often. I would say his best movies are Joe Dirt, Tommy Boy and The Benchwarmers. Did not realize he had made so many movies.

      1. I liked PCU as well…..a Animal House clone with Spade in the bad guy role and Jeremy Piven in the good guy role. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Mr. Spade.

    1. Hey Helakoski…..I had not noticed that his first 6 were voice roles. As for your favorite David Spade movies….Joe Dirt, Tommy Boy and The Benchwarmers……those are the ones he mentioned as the ones people talk to him the most about. Last week he was on a sports talk show (The Dan Patrick Show) and talked about lots of things….which is one of the reason he climb the request list and got an UMR page. Good feedback.

  5. Been a fan of his for awhile. All the way back to his SNL days and his tv show Just Shoot Me. His movie career has been hit and miss. So far I am really enjoying his new television show. Nice look at his movie career.

    1. Hey Brenda B. Glad a fan of his found our tribute page. Saturday Night Live put him on the map for sure. Just Shoot Me was a pretty funny show….and a good fit for Spade’s brand of comedy. As for his new show….it looks interesting…as I have seen a few things on You Tube from that show. Good stuff. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
