I have seen all 5 of the original Planet of the Apes movies.

My favourite is the first film. Heston is wonderful in that one. I watched all of them for Roddy McDowall. I saw them all for the first time in a one evening marathon.

I have no interest in seeing any of the new film titles..

Hey Flora….I edited your comment. I think my tally is 8…not giving myself credit for the 4th one…Conquest of the Planet of the Apes……I recently just watched Battle for the Planet of the Apes (the 5th) and it was pretty bad….even with Roddy McDowall in it. Sounds like a cool Planet of the Apes movie marathon. Speaking of movie marathons…my daughters tried to do a Harry Potter movie marathon today….but were only able to finish 4 of the 8 Potter movies today….but I liked their effort…lol Thanks for the comment, visit and tally.

“Get your stinking paws off me you damn dirty ape!”

I’ve seen all the Planet of the Apes movies and I’ve enjoyed them all to varying degrees, yes even the Tim Burton 2001 redo.

My favorite remains the first and best of the lot starring Charlton “damn them all to hell” Heston. I’m sure I wrote a hub on that one a few years ago.

The recent trilogy has excellent CG visuals and superb work by motion capture genius Andy Serkis. But I have to confess I prefer the old iconic ape masks, the new apes look too real.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has tied with the 1968 original on the UMR chart, oooh. That was probably the best of the new trilogy.

Planet of the Apes (1968) tops the adjusted box office chart followed by the 2001 edition.

Bruce, the first chart at the top of the page isn’t really needed since you repeat the info on the second chart lower down.

Good work Bruce, this sci-fi franchise has been popular for 50 years, will it continue I wonder? Vote Up!

      Hey Steve
      1. Your comment begins with one of the most famous movie lines of all.
      2. I think I have seen all of the Ape movies…..I just re-watched with The Battle of the Planet of the Apes…..not 100% I have seen Conquest of the Planet of the Apes…..I think I have seen parts of it….but maybe not start to finish.
      3. Your favorite is the Heston Ape movie? I did not see that coming…lol.
      4. I liked the Burton version too…..just that ending still makes no sense…..but the ape makeup/design was probably the best…..loved Giamatti in that one.
      5. As for the time….rounding makes them tied….but Planet of the Apes (1968) has a slight edge for the Top Spot.
      6. The first chart is for the beloved mobile readers….as the second table can not been seen by with smart phones.
      7. I will have to see if I can find that Ape Lensman HubPage hub and include it.
      Good stuff as always.
