53 films eh busy actor. Like most people I first noticed Andy Garcia as one of The Untouchables, was he in anything major before that? I dunno.
Looking at the chart I recognise 19 films that I have seen, more than I thought. Favorites include – The Untouchables, Passengers, Godfather III, Oceans 11, Black Rain and Internal Affairs.
Looking at the box office chart – that’s a pretty good adjusted domestic gross for The Untouchables, it did better than Godfather III which was a disappointment after the mega first two movies. Coppola just couldn’t top the classic films he made in the 70s, it was downhill after Apocalypse Now. Dracula was fun though and a big hit.

Hey Steve….thanks for checking out our Andy Garcia page. I have seen 39 of the movies listed…my first miss is #17 Beverly Hills Chihuahua…which I hopefully never see….lol. Seen all of your favorites….though I admit…it has been a very long time since seeing Internal Affairs. Some hidden gems you might enjoy….The Man from Elysian Fields ….has a surprisingly good role for Mick Jagger…not too mention one of James Coburn’s last movies. City Island….fun movie that Garcia directed. Stand and Deliver…considered in my teacher poll as the best Teaching Movie of All-Time. I agree 100% with your assessment of Coppola after the 1980s. Though I did enjoy Tucker….it was a flop for sure. Good stuff.

Hey Dan….thanks for these two lists (both pretty massive and both impressive) to your comment. So Mr. Garcia has a spot in the Top 400. I would have guessed around that ranking for him. First list…lots of Ocean’s listing…with his Ocean co-star Don Cheadle appearing (big list) to be his most frequent Oracle co-star. 41 Oscar winning co-stars is above average…I wonder if and how long it will take him to reach 50? HI BRUCE The Children of Brando! Pacino, Caan, Duval, Diane Keaton, DeNiro, George Hamilton, ‘Mrs Rocky’, Bridget Fonda – and Andy Garcia. Has there ever been any up-and-coming/wannabe serious actor/actress who HASN’T been in one part or another of the Godpop trilogy?
Long ago I thought Andy could well be the “next big thing” in movies but he never quite made the top and although he has now been around for some time a quick glance through the posters and cast lists for many of his recent films suggests that one might have to go quite far back to find a movie of reasonable PRESTIGE in which he last had the out-and-out lead.
In fact the last movie in which I saw him was 2013’s At Middleton and although he had top billing in that one it seemed to me that his sense of timing as an actor had to some extent deserted him and after about half an hour I switched off my TV set. I therefore think your 68% rating flatters the film but IMDB opines that you’re near enough as it awards 65%.
IMDB credits Andy with 16 acting awards and 26 noms and his net worth is said to be $20 million. In his heyday he was for me very personable and relaxing to watch when he got the right role so I “Vote Up!” this new page.

Hey Bob…..thanks for the feedback on Andy Garcia. I liked At Middleton more than you did…..not saying it was an excellent movie…but I found the chemistry between Andy and Vera Farmiga fun to watch. I agree for awhile it looked like Garcia was indeed going to be the next big thing…..although he never reached those heights….he has had a pretty solid career. He know seems slotted into the mature love interest for actresses like Cher, Diane Keaton and others. Funny thought about the Godfather and the children. I thought Garcia was very believable as James Caan’s son…..their acting styles watched well in those roles. 20 million is a nice back account. Thanks for the vote up.
