Angie Dickinson (1931-) is an American actress.   Her acting career spanned 6 different decades.   Dickinson’s breakthrough roles were in 1956’s Gun the Man Down (1956) and 1959’s Rio Bravo (1959), for which she received the Golden Globe® Award for New Star of the Year. 1. Angeline Brown was born  in Kulm, North Dakota in 1931.  Her first husband was football player Glenn Dickinson.

2. Angie Dickinson was spotted by a casting agent when she finished second in a local preliminary for the Miss America contest.   A spot as one of six long-stemmed showgirls on The Jimmy Durante Show quickly followed.  Which was followed by appearances on many television shows, which got her to movies?

3.  Angie Dickinson is best known by the public for her starring role as Sgt. Suzanne “Pepper” Anderson on Police Woman (1974).  She earned four Golden Globe® and 3 Emmy® nominations for that role.  She won one Golden Globe® .

4. Not only was Angie Dickinson once married to a renowned songwriter (Burt Bacharach), but her Beverly Hills neighbor was the legendary Ira Gershwin with whom she regularly played poker for over three decades.

    Feedback appreciated. Historical once only teaming of Brando/Redford/Jane Fonda all in the one movie. Certainly value for money for the starstruck regardless of what one thinks of the movie itself [though I think Robert and Jane made two other films together]
