  1. BEFORE BRANDO AND MONTY CLIFT THERE WAS JOHN GARFIELD

AND BEFORE BRUCE WILLIS THERE WAS ROB LOWE

Brucie married Demi Moore in 1987 and before that Demi and fellow-“Brat Packer” Rob Lowe teamed up in St Elmo’s Fire and About Last Night.

Those movies and the couple’s Brat Pack days proved sound commercial staging posts for the fortunes that the two would eventually accumulate: a current $100 million net fortune for Rob and $200 million for Demi who within the movie industry has been nicknamed Gimme More because of her exorbitant salary demands

Brucie is said by Celebrity Net Worth site to have $250 million in the bank and the guy who eclipse him as Mr Gimmie More, Aston Kutcher is said to be worth $200 million.

As Cogerson [I don’t want to get my Brucies mixed up!] illustrates above Rob’s last film was in 2019 but he is currently performing the lead role of a firefighter in the procedural TV drama series 9-1-1 Lone Star which is in its 2nd season with the next episode airing on Mon 22 Feb.

“I can climb the highest mountain, cross the widest sea.
I can feel St. Elmo’s fire burning in me, burning in me.
Just once in his life a man has his time.
And my time is now; I’m coming alive.
Take me where the future’s lying: St. Elmo’s fire.”

    1. Hey Bob. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Rob Lowe and his connections to Sir Bruce. I think Rob and Demi are the most set off the St. Elmo’s Fire cast when it comes to net worth. I think Emilio and Demi fell in love on the set…..and it was Emilio that Demi was with when she ran into Bruce at a party…and the rest is history. St. Elmo’s Fire the song, is way better than the movie….which I have also found disappointing. Good stuff as always.

  2. My wife loves Rob Lowe or did years ago. I didn’t care for him, just like Robert Downey Jr. who I also disliked back then. Lowe to me was epitomized by St. Elmo’s Fire. My wife likes that picture. To me it was forgettable but I hated his character and the way the female characters play off his. Film did have a good theme song and also another hit with the love theme.

Rob Lowe doesn’t seem so bad to me now nor Mr. Downey, although Mr. Downey always seems like he’s going to freak (Tony Stark maybe).

Rob is # 507 on the 2020 Oracle list; these are the other actors on the list he has appeared with.

    1. Hey Dan. I am right there with you on Mr. Lowe. I thought St.Elmo’s Fire was a big “ok”. After Breakfast Club I was expecting a lot out of that movie. Lowe had the best part in the movie….but like you I did not really like it. Like you, he does not seem so bad these days. He is excellent on talk shows and podcasts….with stories from SNL to the Brat Pack to Cary Grant. Lowe dated Grant’s daughter…and Grant gave Lowe some soap on a rope.

Good lists as always. His Oracle ranking is about where I would have guessed. Seth Green gets the honors as most frequent Oracle co-star. They appeared in 4 movies together. Wow…his Oscar winning co-star list is pretty low. At least it has Michael Caine on the list. good stuff as always.
