  1. Sexy Sheedy – that’s what I called her when I first saw her in the Breakfast Club as one of the famous Brat Pack.

Since then I have seen her in 2 of the movies listed above: Only the Lonely and the thriller Fear in which she has the top-billed lead.

The Work Horse gives Fear just a 57% rating above so maybe it is best highlighted for containing one of the final roles (a virtual cameo) of John Agar who was a promising newcomer in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

He was a kind of protégé of, and appeared with, Duke Wayne in, Fort Apache, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon and Sands of Iwo Jima Further early fame to Agar came because he was married to Shirley Temple at one time the pair having appeared together in the aforesaid Fort Apache. He also supported Shirley in Adventure in Baltimore top-starring Robert Young.

I have also seen Ally in the 1999 TV crime drama movie Our Guys aka Outrage at Glen Ridge in which again she is the top-billed lead.

As The Work Horse says above Ally has been acting steadily for some 40 years and she has this year continued the good work in the new TV comedy series Single Drunk Female 10 episodes of which aired Jan – March 1922 with a 2nd season booked for filming. In that she has a main but supporting role of the overbearing mother of the heroine played by Sofia Black-D’Elia.

However In Chantilly Bridge a drama movie at post-production stage Ally once more returns to the top-billed lead slot and is supported by Talia Shire of Godpop and Rocky fame – the first of those starring Brando of course and the 2nd starring a guy who thought HE could be Brando but never made it!

Although I have seen her in just a handful of movies I Have never forgotten her because whilst arguably one of the lesser-known “core” members of The Brat Pack she will nonetheless always be The Queen of the pack to me as it cuts no ice with me that Bruce Willis has never married her – especially when she’s of part-Irish descent!
