Our UMR Review Of The Batman (2022)
Finally got around to seeing the latest Batman movie. First of all….I admit I liked the movie. There are some major flaws that kept me from loving the movie.
Flaw one: Not enough of the Bruce Wayne world. I did not buy his relationship with his Alfred at all. Wayne goes across more as a homeless person than a billionaire. Flaw two: The pacing of the movie. The final 40 minutes seemed off and the grand finale was a letdown. Flaw three: The movie was so dark that it was difficult to really have “fun” watching it.
Things I liked. Paul Dano as the Riddler was fun to watch. I liked Robert Pattinson as Batman. I liked the feel of the movie….as it was more of a detective story versus a superhero movie. I enjoyed the music in the movie.
Final thought: I liked it, but it is nowhere near as good as either Batman Begins or the Dark Knight.
Disagree with you on this movie, which was one of my favorites last year. Very close to the original comics of yesteryear.
