The really cool thing about this table is that it is “user-sortable”. Rank the movies anyway you want.

  • Sort Cher movies by co-stars of her movies.
  • Sort Cher movies by adjusted domestic box office grosses using current movie ticket cost (in millions)
  • Sort Cher movies by yearly domestic box office rank
  • Sort Cher movies how they were received by critics and audiences.  60% rating or higher should indicate a good movie.
  • Sort by how many Oscar® nominations each Cher movie received and how many Oscar® wins each Cher movie won.
  • Sort Cher movies by Ultimate Movie Rankings (UMR) Score.  UMR Score puts box office, reviews, and awards into a mathematical equation and gives each movie a score.

My comment on Steve’s Cher You Tube video that has been added to this page.

    1. Hi Bruce, only 15 films it’s one of my smallest video charts, but my James Dean chart was even smaller. Your 7 beats my 4, Flora has seen 4 too. The Witches of Eastwick is my favorite Cher movie too. One more Eastwick witch to upload later today. Thanks again for commenting, appreciate the vote and share.

  2. HI STEVE

Don’t let them say your hair’s too long,
Cause I don’t care with you I can’t go wrong.
Then put your little hand in mine
There ain’t no hill or mountain we can’t climb.

In my post of 27 July at 2.59 pm on this page I offered some comments about Cher in response to the then new page from Bruce and they demonstrate the passing significance that that song had in my younger life.

Best POSTERS for me in your Cher video are Sonny & Cher Good Times [ 2 very raunchy ones] Zookeeper, Faithful, Chastity, the two for Burlesque, Tea with Mussolini, Mermaids, , Mask and a very original one for Witches of Eastwick.

Splendid STILLS in my book are (1) The young Sonny & Cher (2) Cher in the excellent Suspect (3) “Blondie” Cher (4) her in Mermaids (5) those witches again (6) Silkwood and (7) Moonstruck

“Don’t let them say your video’s too long!”

Actually YOU can make a silk out of a sou’s ear because despite having only a relatively small number of films to fall back on you have produced a visual profile of Cher’s career that to me is worth a solid 96% rating. Good fun to watch.

You and Bruce agree on 5 of Cher’s Top 6 best reviewed with you including Mermaids in your 6 and him going instead for Ma Mia

    1. Hi Bob, thanks for reviewing and rating my Cherilyn Sarkisian video, appreciate the chart comparison and song lyrics.

Glad you liked the picture gallery.

It’s Witches of Eastwick week at Steve’s video shack, you’re all invited, black cats are welcome, brooms are optional.

I left out Cher’s uncredited cameo in The Player, and so did Bruce. We have the same no.1 and 2. Moonstruck tops all the charts including box office. Saw it on video decades ago, didn’t leave much of an impression.

Mask was better but too depressing. I saw Suspect but can’t remember it much. I thought Jagged Edge was better, good twist at the end.

Next weeks theme – Death Becomes Her.

      1. HI STEVE

        Thanks for the feedback.

I liked Jagged Edge but thought that the identity of the killer was too obvious from about half way through

I look forward to the entries in your Death becomes Her theme.

  3. HI LUPINO

Glad you found my story funny and good rundown on Mamma Mia.

Say, whatever happened to Andy Garcia who used to seem as if he was booked for big things?

    1. That’s exactly what I kept asking myself watching his few scenes in Mamma Mia. Sadly, I haven’t got a clue! Now he will go down in history as the character added to the cast of Mamma Mia for only one reason: to give Cher’s “Ruby” a former suitor named Fernando to warble this song to…

  4. HI BRUCE

    Thanks for your feedback.

On your recommendation I will make a point of catching up on Moonstruck as apart from anything else Cher is always easy on the eye. Your Cher profile has also encouraged me to see Mask as well, and I like Eric Stoltz though he never became a star..

Certainly John Mahoney in Moonstruck would as you suggest be an added bonus. However I didn’t completely miss out on the Cher/Mahoney teaming because he was also in Suspect which as you know I did see. Maybe like me John had a “thing” for Cher!

    1. Hey Bob….I think her Top 4 movies are all good movies….not sure the rest are worth checking out….though her Mamma Mia 2 might end up cracking the Top 4 and send Silkwood to the 5th spot…..so I think you will enjoy her Mask and Moonstruck…..also seems Mermaids got some respect to…..wow that is a lot of M movies.

  5. I always found Cher a very attractive looking pop artist and in the only 2 movies in which I have seen her – Suspect and The Witches of Eastwick – she again convinced me of her great sex appeal.

I liked her singing voice too but what I most remember when her name is mentioned is a funny situation that arose when I was serving in uniform with the British Royal Air Force in England in the mid-1960s.

In 1965 the great Sonny & Cher pop hit “I Got You Babe” was in the charts and two of the lines in that song were
“Don’t let them say your hair’s too long,
Cause I don’t care, with you I can’t go wrong, Babe”

The song was blaring out from all the jukeboxes when a young civilian employee who worked alongside me and who was a Brynner fan shaved his head bald as a tribute to his idol Yul. Although shaven heads are commonplace today in those times they were unheard of among youngish people.

So for a while every time “Baldie” entered our station canteen the pop music fans among the English servicemen would sing at him in unison “Don’t let them say your hair’s too long.”!

Ah the sense of humour of Steve’s fellow Englishmen always greatly amused me when I lived among them! Anyway this new Cogerson page is in my opinion a good stats coverage of Cher’s modest career in movies so “Voted Up!”

    1. Hey Bob…..thanks for sharing some of your thoughts on Cher. Only 2 Cher movies watched? I would have thought Moonstruck would have interested you…Cher won an Oscar for the role…a young Nicolas Cage….and added bonus….Frasier’s dad…John Mahoney in a supporting role.

Funny story about Cher, I Got You Babe, Yul and his devoted fan. Thanks for sharing. I agree those Brits have a funny sense of humor. Thanks for the voted up and the comment….both are greatly appreciated.

    2. Bob Roy, I am glad you are back. I hope you had a great holiday. I hope bruce’s page inspires you to see more of cher, not just easy on the eyes, but a few wonderful performances. if she had stuck with acting she might have been a great. you might try moonstruck and mask. thanks for sharing a fun story with us.

      1. HI BOB COX

        Thanks for your good wishes.

With both you and Bruce encouraging me to watch more of Cher’s movies I will have to go down that path. Thanks for the recommendation.

Glad you enjoyed the funny story. I don’t like to be too serious all the time about movie matters and it helps me to inject some humour into posts, but you should note that anyone you see me trying to wind up gets that treatment because I have an interest in his/her contributions to this site

I have though lots of serious exchanges with Flora and her work on the site greatly impresses me too.

    3. Hey Bob,
      really funny story 😉

Finally went to see Mamma Mia 2, since it was shown in the original version at a local cinema for one night only. I thought it was an “ok” summer movie, but it wasn’t as good as other current musicals like, let’s say, Greatest Showman. Cher did nothing for me in this movie, it belonged to stalwards Christine Baranski, Julie Walters and the young cast. While it is always nice to hear ABBA songs in a movie (they were REALLY huge in germany when I was a teenager), I usually prefer the original versions. Cher’s belting out of Fernando to a badly underused Andy Garcia, looking younger than “daughter” Meryl but “dancing” as if she had just taken a day off from a nursing home was rather sad, actually. Anyway, there’s nothing wrong with a pleasant time killer and as such, Mamma Mia does fit the bill. If it proves to have “legs” at the boxoffice in America, it might even become Cher’s biggest hit. Internationally it looks promising, with Mamma Mia even fighting off Tom Cruise in it’s second week at no 1 in the UK and another top spot in germany as well as other, albeit more minor markets.
