  1. Hello Bruce.
Thank you for doing a page on Gail Russell. I’ve only seen a handful of her films but I liked her in “The Uninvited”, “Our Hearts Were Young and Gay”, “Angel and the Badman”, “The Wake of the Red Witch”, “Night Has a Thousand Eyes” and “Seven Men from Now. She had the most beautiful soulful looking eyes.

    1. Hey Lyle….glad you found your requested page. I like doing pages like this because I find it fun to learn about somebody I knew almost nothing about. You might have only seen a handful of her movies…but the 6 you like would put you in first place in our tally contest. I liked 3 of the movies you liked so much (Seven Men, Angel and Uninvited). Somehow I have managed to miss The Wake of the Red Witch. I would agree with you about her eyes…..thanks for the comment and the visit.

  2. I’m not as familiar with Gail Russell movies either, Bruce.

I have seen only 3 Gail Russel movies:

    The Univited
    Angel and the Bad Men
    Seven Years From Now

    1. Hey Flora….wow….Steve takes a second classic tally in a row….that might be a record. Though our combined total of 10 (all three of us) is not too high. You and I have watched the same 3 movies. Thanks for checking out this page and commenting.

  3. Interesting choice. I didn’t recognise the name when I saw it. I watched The Uninvited again recently but didn’t remember her name. A tragic end to her life, died young.

I’ve only seen 4 of her films – The Uninvited, Angel and the Badman, Wake of the Red Witch and Seven Men from Now.

Good to see a Randolph Scott western top the critics chart. It was more entertaining than The Uninvited which had it’s creepy moments but was ultimately disappointing, so many opportunities for scares in a haunted house setting but the director just wasn’t interested and the whole thing just fizzled out. Bob Hope’s The Ghost Breakers was more frightening than The Uninvited.

Ani interesting page Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve…..a very tough competition between you, me and Flora….but you get the Top Spot…congrats….4 for you and 3 for me and Flora. I have seen 3 of the ones you have seen….which are the same 3 Flora has seen. I liked all the ones that I have seen….Univited, Seven Men From Now and Angel and the Badman…..Wake of the Red Witch is one of the few post 1939 Wayne movies that I have not seen.

I liked The Uninvited…though I if Milland had been a ghost telling the story the movie would have been even better…instead we got a Hollywood ending…but Russell was good in the movie. Seven Men From Now is one of the best westerns….EVER…..so we agree there….thanks as always for sharing your movie thoughts and knowledge.
