1. Hilary Ann Swank was born in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1974.

2.  Hilary Swank’s mom (Judy Kay) was very supportive of her daughter’s desire to act.    In 1989, Kay moved with Hilary to Los Angeles, where they lived out of their car until she saved enough money to rent an apartment

3.  Hilary Swank’s film debut was 1992’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  Her first lead role was in 1994’s The Next Karate Kid.

4.   Hilary Swank played single mother Carly Reynolds in Beverly Hills, 90210 and was initially promised it would be a two-year role, but saw her character written out after 16 episodes.

5.  After “Possibly Interesting Fact #4” Hilary Swank was devastated.   This however allowed her to audition to audition for the role of Brandon Teena in 1999’s  Boys Don’t Cry.   Swank would win her first of two Oscars® for that movie.

6. Hilary Swank replaced Sandra Bullock as Maggie Fitzgerald in 2004’s Million Dollar Baby after Bullock dropped out for other commitments.  Swank won her second Oscar® for that role.

7. Hilary Swank, Vivien Leigh, Helen Hayes and Luise Rainer are the only actresses with a perfect track record at the Oscars®: Two nominations and two wins.

8.  Hilary Swank has been married one time.   She does not have children.
