    1. Dear Josh,

Are U absolutely sure that Robert L. Waltrip is really Bobby Long?

It couldn’t be him because the article didn’t mention about him being the same little boy in It Happened in Brooklyn.

Please reply back ASAP* Thank U*

        1. Exactly. Not the Bobby Long we’re looking for. Thanks 4 the effort Josh.

However I think we might know the possible answer 2 what really happened 2 Bobby.

I just hope I/we are wrong.

He must still be alive. If not in Life, then he’s alive in spirit. In me.

  1. Dear Cogerson,
Thanks 4 the support. Though I can’t confirm whether Bobby Long’s disappearance had foul play involved.

    There can be 3 possibilities:
    A. He’s alive at 85 or 86 (if his birthday passed and maybe he’s 87).

    B. He passed away but in an undisclosed grave or cremation record.

    C. I was right. Bobby Long & his family were murdered and had their bodies and existence turned 2 ash.

I hope I’m wrong about C. But that could be the only answer that would make sense as 2 why he never got 2 do Anything or show himself after all these decades.

I do hope I can solve the mystery and give him and his family a happy ending, beginning, maybe an better outlook on life if he’s still alive.

I just want him 2 know that if he had No One 2 represent his positive spirit or even his memory, then by God, he’s got someone. And that’s Me*

    Thanks Cogerson. God Bless U*

      1. Dear Dan, the boy in the movie was Bobby Long* And it was (probably) the Only movie he ever did.

He disappeared without any explanation. He never worked on Anything ever again despite his tremendous talent.

Yet he never came out of the public eye and say things like “I was that kid” or “The reason why I decided not to become a star was because etc…”

But he didn’t. He’s been missing for now 73 years. No one ever investigated what happened to him or his family.

        Until me.

      2. Dear Dan,

I was wondering if U found out anything about what happened to Bobby Long.

I’m still looking 4 him myself.

Please write back after U read this.

        Thanks Dan*

  2. This movie has a mystery that has gone unreported and unsolved for 73 years now.

The multitalented little boy in ‘I Believe’ number Never got to work in another movie or Anything in the media after that.

Bobby Long had ALL of the makings of being a star. He was Rare.

How could such an amazing child prodigy like Bobby Long disappear after making his Big movie debut?

I believe his mystery Finally deserves to be solved. Don’t You?

    1. Hey Gabriel….interesting. I admit I am not aware of Bobby Long at all. Makes me want to do some research and see what I can find out. Good question.

      1. Actually I’ve done my research and found out a good deal about him*

Here’s a spoiler alert: He had a puppy named Snookie*

As if he wasn’t adorable enough*

Sadly I can’t continue with my investigating until next year. Hopefully when everything is resolved. And we get out of this corona mess.

  3. I was able to watch a scene being filmed when I had hitdh-hiked from Ottawa, Canada to Hollywood expressly to hopefully see Peter Lawford. Norma Shearer’s brother Lloyd was I think Head of Photography at MGM (a Canadian also!) & got us in. The thrill of a lifetime!!! Lloyd even took a picture of us with Peter (1946)

    1. LLoyd Shearer is not Norma’s brother. Her brother was Douglas Shearer, head of Sound Recording at MGM

    2. Hey Shirley….that is awesome about seeing a scene being filmed…..the closest I ever got to that was when The Jackal was being filmed in Richmond, Virginia and when Sommersby was being filmed in Farmville, Virginia. Very envious of you….thanks for sharing that information. Great feedback.

      1. Dear Cogerson,

I hope you’re doing well and I just wanted 2 let you know that I’m still on the mission 2 find Bobby Long.

I have a couple of leads that might just open the investigation further until I get 2 the Truth.

I pray the answer is not what I think it is, that Bobby’s disappearance was an act of foul play. I pray nothing awful happened 2 him.

If anything I just want him an his family 2 be happy whether he’s still alive or not. He would be 86 this year.

If only I knew when His Birthday was.

The 75th anniversary of It Happened in Brooklyn came and went. But this year also marks the anniversary of Bobby’s disappearance.

And I have 2 find out what happened and what I can do 2 help his legacy. I’m not going 2 let his story continue 2 be a cautionary tale or a murder mystery or an average ghost story.

His life deserves some form of a happy ending and I hope I am the one 2 give it 2 him.

        Thanks Cogerson & God Bless U *

    3. Dear Shirley, it’s been 2 months since my first message to you regarding if you knew anything about what happened to the boy Bobby Long.

Please reply back. I really am interested.

      Thank You*

    4. Dear Shirley,

It’s been 3 months since my last request if you remember anything at all about an encounter with the boy Bobby Long being in It Happened in Brooklyn.

      Please reply back. It’s urgent.

      1. Hey Gabriel…..Shirley is not one of the regulars that comment here…I would say the chances of her responding are very very slim. Hope you find the answers you seek.

        1. Thank U Cogerson.

I only care 2 know what happened 2 that incredibly talented little boy.

Real question is: Did Bobby Long live a full and happy life?

If so, why didn’t he get to be star?
Or why he never revealed himself as that kid in the movie?

Only time will tell. I only hope it’s not too late.

        2. Dear Cogerson,
I know it’s been a year, and I just wanted 2 let U know that I am still investigating what happened to Bobby Long.

If it turns out that foul play was involved in his disappearance then he deserves 2 have his unfinished business fulfilled.

Please wish me luck and if U have any tips 4 me please let me know. Thanks*

          1. Hey Gabriel….I am sorry to hear that foul play was involved in his disappearance. In the research I have done, his story is indeed a mystery. I wish you all the luck. Advanced Google Search and reading old Variety magazines is the best tips I have for you. Good luck.

        3. PS: It’s vital that I find the answer 2 Bobby Long’s mystery.

Because the the 75th anniversary of It Happened in Brooklyn will be next year on March 12th or 13th.

I intend 2 solve the mystery by then. And I pray I can give it happy ending.

Thanks Cogerson, & God Bless U*

          1. Hey Gabriel….I also hope your search has a happy ending. Wow 75 year anniversary coming up for It Happened in Brooklyn.
