  1. ooh a John Carradine page, lovely, and thanks for the video link Bruce, it is appreciated.

Nice of Bob to move our recent video chats here.

I’ve seen 36 of the 77 films on the chart, more than I managed from my video 40. Lots of favorites including – The Howling, The Sentinel, Jesse James, Frank James, Court Jester, Stagecoach. Hound of the Baskervilles, House of Frankenstein, House of Dracula, The Mummy’s Ghost, The Secret of Nimh, The Grapes of Wrath, Liberty Valance, The White Buffalo and The Ten Commandments.

We have the same no.1 on the critics chart, but my no.2 John Ford’s Stagecoach is rated lower than The Court Jester and not even in the top 5 at the UMR Bruce. I think it’s time to give that ratings system a thorough update and ignore the Metacritics, their scoring system severely penalises a film if one bored critic gives a good film a low score.

    Good stuff Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve….yep..your video got me curious to see how many of his movies were in our database….and then it was like…put the information on the website. Tally count….36 for you, 28 for Flora and we bringing up the rear. Looking at Dan’s massive lists….it looks like Carradine worked with everybody….lol. I have seen 10 of your favorites. Hmmm…The Court Jester….just re-checked the numbers…and it still has it in 3rd place….Stagecoach actually dropped a little bit when looking at my sources. I generally do not use Meta when I am researching…WoC however likes pulling those numbers….when she does massive data grabs. In this case neither are influnced by Meta. Good stuff as always…hope you are enjoying your break. Over here…things are crazy busy….now getting about 3 hours a sleep a night….but I am almost 1/3 through this 16 week college stuff I am doing.

Hi Bruce, I always found Lon Chaney Jr sympathetic in his roles even when he was playing a baddie or a werewolf. He always seemed sad even when he was smiling.

Your tally 7, Flora 10 and I’m leading with 19 thanks to my interest in horror. Thanks again for the vote, share and comment, much appreciated.
