  1. 4/CHARITY WORK: Since 1992 Binoche has been a patron of the French Cambodian charity Enfants d’Asie . Through this charity she is godmother to five Cambodian orphans and has funded the construction of a children’s home in Battambang. I admire her greatly for that; as the saying goes putting back into communities some of the rewards she has gotten out of life.

5/OTHER ACTIVISM. Juliette has associated herself with causes regarded as “progressive”; for example on 7 January 2010 joining a campaign to highlight the taxation and legitimacy issues being faced by undocumented workers in her native France.

6/As [I like to think!] a “cosmopolitan” movie buff I am greatly pleased that The Work Horse is not content with covering just the Hollywood/English-language careers of these notable continental European thespians but is also going to some trouble to chase after the grosses of their homeland films – and has even developed a taste for watching some of those movies [for example Clouds of Sils Myrna in Juliette’s case]. WH is clearly doing more than “throwing his hat” at these types of profiles So “Voted Up!”

  2. 1/to the best of my recollection I have seen 2 of Juliette’s movies listed above: The English Patient and Godzilla. She seems to be a multi-talented actress having [as Bruce highlights in his lead-in] acted and danced with distinction on stage as well as carving out a prestigious film career.

2/Juliette has 36 acting awards and 55 noms credited to her by IMDB; and her current net worth is said to be $20 million. In my opinion those are excellent achievements for an actress who didn’t originate in the Hollywood mainstream but had her origins in the French cinema of the 1980s where her early films established her as a French star of some renown.

3/The [as Bruce clearly demonstrates in the chronological table above] always-busy Juliette has two movies in the pipeline – one French [Between Two Worlds at post-production stage] and one Italian [Together Now currently filming].

  3. If you read Pierre’s interview, then you can guess why we have a Juliette Binoche page. I have seen 16 of the movies listed above….including seeing Clouds of Sils Maria tonight. One of her strange movies, but one I enjoyed is number 34 Slack Bay. A movie most have probably never heard of before.
