William F. Torpey passed away this weekend. Although UMR regulars might not recognize the name, I can tell you for the last 10 or so years, Bill was a great friend to UMR. The amount of times Bill shared an UMR link (usually classic actors or actresses) was mind boggling! Bill a retired newspaper man, just like my dad, loved classic movies. He would comment on our pages, but I could never figure out which comments were his…I did suspect he was either “Me” or “In The Shadows”. Bill leaves behind an awesome family and a ton of friends. Rest in Peace Bill. You will be missed.

Thanks Flora. Sadly he got very political in the last 5 or 6 years and less movie oriented, but we had some good discussions on classic movies. Thanks for the kind words. RIP
