UMR Review of Jurassic World Dominion

Why I watched this one? First of all, it was new to Redbox. Secondly, I think I was required by movie watching law to watch the 6th and hopefully final Jurassic movie.

What is this one about? Four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar, Biosyn operatives attempt to track down Maisie Lockwood, while Dr Ellie Sattler investigates a genetically engineered swarm of giant insects.

My thoughts on this one: First let’s do a inventory of our thoughts on the other Jurassic movies. Jurassic 1 is an all-time classic. Jurassic 2 & 3 are pretty forgettable. Jurassic 4, which was the reboot, is entertaining and a fun watch. Jurassic 5 was horrible and easily the worst of the 5 movies.

The good parts of this one: Seeing the original threesome back together was fun. The finale which features all the characters together was pretty good. Wow….that was a short list.

The bad parts of the movie: The story is just stupid. There is a sub plot involving food crops that is so unnecessary. The villain is weak and has the worst exit plan ever! The action scenes are boring….well done but boring. The type of movie in which surviving a plane crash is….super easy, barely an inconvenience. Jeff Goldblum, who I love as Dr. Malcolm is given very little to do.

Final thought: Better than the previous movie, but nothing compared to the original or even the first reboot movie.
