UMR Review of Kiss of Death (1947)

I had heard about this movie for a very long time, but I finally got around to watching it. It’s awesome reputation is well deserved. Movie creates lots of great suspense. The highlight would be a get away that revolves around an elevator. Victor Mature provides one of his greatest performances. As good as Mature is in the movie, it actually belongs to someone else. Richard Widmark steals the movie! His character, which he based on the Joker is simply AWESOME! I think he needs to be in the discussion as the best Joker with Heath Ledger, Joaquin Phoenix and Jack Nicholson. Final thought: This one is worth tracking down…heck it is sitting on YouTube right now….watch it and see what I mean about how good this one is.  4.5 Stars out of 5.0 stars.
