    1. Hey Steve….thanks for checking out our Maureen Stapleton page. Tally count: Cogerson 15, Flora 8 and you 6. I am right there with you on Cocoon 1, Airport and The Money Pit. I am alos right there with you on Reds not being a favorite….well done movie….but a very difficult not fun watch. Good stuff as always.

  2. You were right, Maureen Stapleton is the closest one to be on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000. She’s not on anymore but she was # 799 back in 2000 then Hasta La Vista baby.

Maureen doesn’t seem to have been too active in films in the 50’s or 60’s. She made her first film in 1953 and then pre Airport maybe 3 other films.

I went to Airport when I was a kid.

Who thought, The Fugitive Kind has 4 Oscar winners.

    1. Hey Dan. Thanks for the lists on Maureen Stapleton and the other 4 members….I have to say my excitement level on all five of these Oscar winners was pretty low….but I am glad that I completed them. I think I have done 8 Best Supporting Actress Oscar winners in the last few weeks. Still have about 20 plus to go. Good information about you seeing Airport in theaters. I saw a few disaster movies in theaters…but it was in the later part of the 1970s…with the classic movies like The Swarm and Meteor.

Looking at the first list…Jack Warden gets the honors as most frequent Oracle co-star. I always enjoyed him in movies….just recently got WoC to watch him in All The President’s Men….a solid actor for sure. Looking at the second list, 27 is about average. She had a nice long career, but as you mentioned…..things did not really start rolling on the movie side until she was already in her mid 40s. Good stuff as always.

  3. Bruce, you have published a lot of pages in one day. You have missed an important Maureen Stapleton movie – BELLS ARE RINGING starring Judy Holliday and Maureen Stapleton

I have seen 8 Maureen Stapleton movies.

The HIGHEST rated movie I have seen is Airport.

The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is Reds.

The LOWEST rated movie I have seen is The Fugitive Kind.

    Favourite Maureen Stapelton Movies:

    Airport
    Bells Are Ringing
    Cocoon

Other Maureen Stapleton Movies I Have Seen:

    Summer of ’42
    Bye Bye Birdie
    Plaza Suite
    The Fugitive Kind

    1. Hey Flora. Thanks for checking out our new page on Maureen Stapleton. Tally count: 15 for me and 8 for you. As for Bells Are Ringing….that was Jean Stapleton and not Maureen. I used to think they were sisters, but I looked it up after reading your comment…they are not related. Surprised you have not seen Reds…granted it is not a favorite of mine….but a cast that makes it “must watch”. I also enjoyed Airport and Cocoon. Good stuff as always.
