  1. Ruth Hussey eh… surprised she didn’t change her surname before going to Hollywood. 🙂

I’ve seen just 4 of the 28 films on the chart – The Philadelphia Story, Northwest Passage, The Uninvited and Another Thin Man.

Looking at the grosses The Uninvited was a bigger hit than I expected, bigger than The Philadelphia Story. Watched it again last year, some spooky moments but also so many wasted opportunites to make a really good ghost story, the director just wasn’t interested.

    1. Hello Steve,
Really i like your great sense of humour, even i have never hear of her before, but i am sure it will be better to change something
      So long

    1. Hey Dan. Even though she was not active for so many years…..her lists are still decent. Looking at the first one …it looks Wagner will be the last holdout……but even he at almost 90 can not have too many more movies. Looking at the second list…Bess Flowers pops up…8 movies together…..I wonder if Flowers went home or just slept at the studio..lol. And the third list…..22 movies for a small movie output (compared to actresses of her era) is pretty impressive. 4 movies with Charles Coburn….seems…I keep seeing him….maybe it is time for an UMR page on Mr. Coburn. Thanks for sharing these lists.

  3. I have seen 14 Ruth Hussey movies.

The highest rated movie I have seen is The Philadelphia Story at number 1.

The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is Stars and Stripes Forever.

The lowest rated movie I have seen is Rich Man, Poor Girl at 26.

I have seen 8 of the top 10 movies.

    My favourite movies are:

    Another Thin Man
    The Philadelphia Story
    The Women
    The Uninvited
    H.M. Pulham, Esq.

    1. Hey Flora
      1. Thanks for the comment, visit and tally count.
      2. I have seen 6 of her movies…so I am well behind you….but I have seen her Top 5 UMR movies…so maybe I watched the right ones.
      3. I have seen The Philadelphia Story many many times….I am sure I will really notice her part more on my next viewing.
      4. My lowest one watched is Facts of Life…..but got admit….I can not recall her role in that one….I guess she was Lucille Ball’s friend.
      5. Of your favorites….I have seen the first 4. Apparently H.M. Pulham, Esq. was the highlight of Robert Young’s acting career…one of the few times one of his roles got some Oscar buzz…I will have to check it out.
      Great feedback as always.
