  1. Hi
Sarandon has been around for so long that you forget how good she really is. Personally I think she’s as good as Streep. I first noticed her in 1987 in The Witches of Eastwick and then Bull Durham, but without doubt my favourite would be Thelma and Louise. I’m really surprised it’s not number 1. It was unfortunate that she up against Jodie Foster for the Oscars that year.
I’m also surprised at its low box office considering it is such an iconic film.
I also liked The Client and Shall We Dance. The one film I wasn’t so keen on was her Oscar winning performance in Dead Men Walking. I just thought it was too preachy. Nevertheless she is a very beautiful and talented lady. It would be nice to see her get another few hits.

    1. Hey Chris…I agree that since she has been around for so long that people have forgotten how good an actress she is. It is amazing that Sarandon and Streep have not made a movie together…especially since they have been appearing in movies for the last 35 plus years. I liked her in Witches of Eastwick too. Not been a fan of Thelma and Louise….but I have only seen it once…maybe it is time for a revisit. I also agree with you about Dead Men Walking. Not sure how many hits she has left. Tammy made money but it was awful….and somewhat depressing seeing her in the grandmother role. Thanks for the comment and the visit.

  2. Lots of facts and stats on a respected actress Bruce, nice work. I think I first saw her in Tony Scott’s vampire tale The Hunger. I didn’t see Rocky Horror until later on video rental. Let’s see I’ve seen…. 15 of the 64 films you’ve listed, wow less than a quarter of the total.
The Client tops the moviescore, I haven’t seen that film in ages. Rocky Horror no.1 tops the box office chart, I read somewhere that it still plays in certain theaters around the world with the audience dressing up as the characters and singing along with it.
I remember Sarandon and Tim Robbins being booed at the Oscars when they started complaining about President Bush before presenting an Oscar. Not really the place for that sort of thing. Voted Up.

    1. Hey Steve
      1. Thanks for the visit and the comment.
      2. I have fond memories of The Hunger. As a teenager that was a movie that I liked to watched every time it came on late night cable. Apparently she was having an affair with David Bowie while making that movie.
      3. 15 for you…let me count my Sarandon movies watched. I am at 43 movies watched…once again when it comes to current performers my tally counts are pretty good….hurting my arm as I pat myself on the back.
      4. The Rocky Horror Picture Show plays at a theater about 10 miles from the house…every 4th Friday….I saw it there when I was going to college so many years ago….I still find it shocking that is still playing.
      5. I remember her and Robbins getting booed too…..not one of the great Oscar highlights.
      6. As always thanks for stopping by and talking movies.

  3. She has been a favorite of mine for years. My favorite Susan movies would be Thelma and Loise. Bull Durham. And Shall We Dance.

    1. Hey Kelly….glad I did a page on one of your favorites. I really like Bull Durham too. I thought Thelma and Louise was somewhat overrated…I still do not understand the ending of that movie. I have to say that I have not seen Shall We Dance yet. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  4. Shocking that she has been around so long. I have never even heard of Joe. I find that Rocky Horror Picture show being 40 years old is even more shocking.

    1. Hey Tanner….thanks for stopping by. Before you know it…she will be celebrating her 50 years in the movie business. Rocky Horror is 40 but still being shown in theaters….now that is some serious lasting power.
