Want to know the best Vincent Price movies?  How about the worst Vincent Price movies?  Curious about Vincent Price’s box office grosses or which Vincent Price movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Vincent Price movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences and which got the worst reviews? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.

Vincent Price (1911-1993) was an American actor.  Price had one of the most distinctive and best known movie voices in the history of movies.  In the 1950s he became the King of Horror Movies, taking over the crown from Boris Karloff.  Steve Lensman (great friend of our website) requested a Vincent Price movie pages many years ago.  Well finally we have a Vincent Price movie page.  Sorry it took so long Steve…..his massive career was somewhat mind boggling!

His IMDb page shows 201 acting credits from 1938-1993. This page currently ranks 50 Vincent Price movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television shows, shorts, cameos and movies not released in North America were not included in the rankings.

Vincent Price Movies Can Be Ranked 6 Ways In This Table

The really cool thing about this table is that it is “user-sortable”. Rank the movies anyway you want.

  • Sort Vincent Price movies by co-stars of his movies.
  • Sort Vincent Price movies by adjusted domestic box office grosses using current movie ticket cost (in millions)
  • Sort Vincent Price movies by yearly domestic box office rank
  • Sort Vincent Price movies how they were received by critics and audiences.  60% rating or higher should indicate a good movie.
  • Sort by how many Oscar® nominations each Vincent Price movie received and how many Oscar® wins each Vincent Price movie won.
  • Sort Vincent Price movies by Ultimate Movie Rankings (UMR) Score.  UMR Score puts box office, reviews and awards into a mathematical equation and gives each movie a score.
  • Use the search and sort button to make this page very interactive.

THIS PAGE IS NOT A COMPLETED PAGE.  JUST WANTED TO SHOW THE MOVIES IN OUR DATABASE THAT STARRED VINCENT PRICE.  NOT SURE WHEN WE WILL FINISH THIS PAGE BUT UNTIL THEN, WE FIGURED THERE WAS NO GOOD REASON NOT TO SHARE WHAT WE DO HAVE.   WE CALL OUR WEBSITE ULTIMATE MOVIE RANKINGS BECAUSE WE TRY AND RANK EVERY MOVIE AN ACTOR OR ACTRESS MADE.  SINCE THIS IS ONLY SOME OF PRICE’S MOVIES WE WILL JUST CALL THIS A VINCENT PRICE MOVIE RANKING PAGE AND LEAVE OUT THE ULTIMATE!

Wow….two Steve links……one for his You Tube Video and for his Movie Poster Page.

And finally….have to add Steve Lensman’s Vincent Price Movie Poster Page.  There is some great art work in this collection of posters….highly recommend checking out this page.

  1. He will always be the voice from Michael Jackson’s Thriller video. Too bad that mini movie is not ranked here.

    1. Hey Tiffany o. Thriller was a MTV video only….so it did not earn any box office money…so it was not included. But that video gave Price lots of press and introduced him to a whole new generation…thanks for stopping by.

  2. Hi, Bruce.

I’ve done a lot of catching up today. \I’ve done O’Toole, Laughton, Brennan, and I have updated my film count on Sinatra and Shearer.

Anthony Quinn is going to take a long time for me to write, so I think Price will be my last page for today.

I am more familiar with Price than other horror-famed actors. I am more likely to see a horror film with him than the British horror films. Perhaps because I do not need to worry so much about spiders?

I have seen a lot of his non-horror movies like the ones Steve has not seen.

I have seen his final screen appearance in Edward Sissorhands. That is more than I can say for most of my favourite era actors who continued to work in my lifetime.

The top rate movie I have seen is The Song of Bernadette at number 2. It has been a long time since I have seen it.

The lowest ranked movie I have seen is The Trouble With Girls at number 44.

So obviously I have not seen The Ten Commandments at number 1 still. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm…….

My rankings will make you happy:

I have seen 4 of the top 5 movies
I have seen 8 of the top 10 movies
I have seen 12 of the top 15 movies
I have seen 15 of the top 20 movies
I have seen 20 movies overall.

I have actually seen a title not listed. I used to own it but it got to who knows where: The Bat co-starring Agnes Moorehead…I know it well because of the author of the book and play.

My favourite Vincent Price movies are:

    Laura
    House on Haunted Hill
    The Bat
    The Bribe
    Keys of the Kingdom

    Cheers,

    Flora

    1. Hey Flora.
      1. You have been very busy today. And all of your hard work and comments are greatly appreciated. I think I took the wrong day to not look at comments….I had a bunch yesterday so it has taken awhile to catch up.
      2. Quinn took a long to research and write…I view that one as a completed page….and it is 81 movies…which is one of the biggest ones that I have written….so take your time…..we never close….lol.
      3. Still on your Ten Commandments boycott?…I can see all the way from across the ocean rolling his eyes.
      4. I have always thought Edward Scissorhands was a good way for Price to end his career….he, Burton and Depp really got along during that movie.
      5. The Elvis and Vincent movie might be one step above a Scooby-Doo television episode…that is a really bad movie….sorry Steve I know you like Elvis movies.
      6. Your %….80%, 80%, 80%, 75%….and only 16% of the bottom 30…..UMR Score Works…I tell you it works….no matter how many times Steve questions it.
Tally count…Steve 37, Flora 20….and down at the bottom me with 12.
Thanks for your thoughts on Mr. Price and everybody else today…..take it easy tonight you deserve a break.

      1. It’s not a boycott on The Ten Commandments, Bruce.
I just do not watch many epic movies very often period and when I do the films I watch tend to have a different subgenre than being epic or Heston or any other epic actor. It’s that I do not watch Biblical epics unless it is either around Christmas or Easter-usually the latter for Biblical epics because there are so many other Christmas movies.

This past April when TCM aired its tribute to Quinn’s 100th birthday by making him Star of the Month I recorded and saw a lot more movies and one of them was a Biblical epic called Barabbas. Other Biblical or Religious themed epics I added to my have seen list included The Agony and The Ecstacy, and The Robe.
One of the reasons why it took me so long to see Lawrence of Arabia while I had already seen Sharif’s other war epic Doctor Zhivago a long time ago is because it is also an epic romance, just like Gone With the Wind.

Epic romances I started to watch in my early 20s.

I did plan to see The Greatest Story Ever Told when it aired in both April and December, but it just didn’t happen. I do so love Max Von Sydow in other films.

        Flora

        1. Hey Flora….I understand it is not a boycott….I was just imagine Steve when he read that you still had not seen the movie….lol. TCM is a great source for movies. I was surprised how well Barabbas did when I was researching my Quinn page. Sharif got off to an incredible start….with Lawrence and Dr. Z. I actually just watched Dr. Zhivago myself only a short time ago. Sorry you missed Max Von Sydow. FYI…Von Sydow’s part in the new Star Wars movie is close to a blink and you might miss him role. Thanks for the return visit to my Vincent Price page….Hope your New Year was a good one.

  3. A movie page on one of my favorite actors, Vincent Price, thanks Bruce. I still enjoy watching the classic horror movies of 1930-1969 starring horror icons like Price, Lee, Cushing, Karloff and Lugosi.

Price has appeared in more than 100 films but I think you’ve got all his most well known movies on the page.Of the 50 you’ve listed I’ve seen 37. Looking at my database I have 47 Vincent Price films in my movie collection so there are a few missing from the list.

Favorites include – House of Wax, House of Usher, Pit and the Pendulum, Masque of the Red Death, The Raven, Witchfinder General, The Abominable Dr. Phibes and The Ten Commandments.

Movies I haven’t seen include – Leave Her to Heaven, Wilson and The Keys of the Kingdom.

The Ten Commandments tops the moviescore, well it was a massive success and it was nominated for Best Picture. I think his last film was Edward Scissorhands, Tim Burton was a big fan, Price narrated one of his animated shorts, Vincent.

    Voted Up.

    1. Hey Steve….hope you liked your Vincent Price page. Whenever I finish the page…I will be sure to include some of your Price movie pages as I think they will make a great addition to the page.

My tally is 12…..just a tick below your 37. So of the missing 10 movies in your collection….which are the ones that I need to include?

Of your favorite Price movies…I have seen The Raven and The Ten Commandments…the rest will go on my list of movies to watch. Witchfinder General is one that I have wanted to watch for awhile now.

The Keys to the Kingdom is a very good movie….it is actually one of my favorite Gregory Peck movies….Price is stellar in a supporting role.

Thanks for the suggestion for a Price page…sorry it took so long to complete.

      1. Theater of Blood is another favorite of mine I forgot to mention. The 10 films I mentioned are actually 12, seems I had Leave her to Heaven and The Las Vegas Story already in my collection.

The 12 films are – The Baron of Arizona, The Bat, Brigham Young, Casanova’s Big Night (a cameo as Casanova), Catchfire (directed by Dennis Hopper), Diary of a Madman, His Kind of Woman, Madhouse, Son of Sinbad, Tower of London (1939), Twice Told Tales and War Gods of the Deep.

Your list is fine enough as it is. Thanks for the link and thanks again for finding the time to create a Vincent Price movie page, much appreciated.

        1. Hey Steve…I will have to check out Theater of Blood. As for the missing ones…I will see what I can find on those movies…that is now twice someone has mentioned…Baron of Arizona….I even read that Price thought that movie was his best performance. Pretty sure I need to get that one on the page. I think your poster page and this page go well together. Thanks for the update.

  4. Hi

I’ve always loved Vincent Price, especially with his movies with Roger Corman. I remember as a kid, there was a season on every Friday night for weeks. The Fall of the House of Usher, The Pit and The Pendulum, The Masque of the Red Death and The Raven with Boris Karloff. He was a fantastic supporting player in the 40s. I wonder if he realised he would become such a big star.
He had a brilliant voice and persona for horror. One of his best movies is The Theatre of Blood. It’s really a black comedy but worth watching.

    1. Hey Chris. Thanks for your thoughts and memories on Vincent Price. His Roger Corman/Poe movies kept Price in the spotlight for years. I have seen a few of those movies….but not nearly as many as I want to. I imagine that if you asked Price how is career would wind up….there is no way he would have been able to predict the success coming his way. Not many character actors become the leading man….and maintain for so long. James Coburn comes to mind….he excelled in supporting roles…hit is big In Like Flint…..was a huge star for maybe 3 years and then went back to supporting roles. It was only when Price got older did he slide back into the supporting roles. His voice has to be in the Top 5 of all-time. Price, Mason, Freeman, Welles and tie with Connery and Caine?
I will have to track down…The Theatre of Blood…..thanks for the suggestion.

  5. Glad to see my Top 5 Vincent Price movies made your rankings. 1. Dragonwyck
    2. Witchfinder General 3. The Masque of the Red Death 4. House of Usher and 5. The Las Vegas Story

The only movie I see missing that I would like to see is 1950’s The Baron of Arizona. It almost cracks my Top 5 but is for sure in my Top 5.

    1. Hey Maddy….I even gladder to see that someones Top 5 Vincent Price movies were in the table. I will have to take a closer look at The Baron Of Arizona. Currently I know almost nothing about that movie…..but that can easily be fixed….especially with it ranking so high in your thoughts on Mr. Price. Thanks for stopping by
