  1. Watch My 3 Sons every day on Me TV. Started watching when they lived with their grandfather Bub (William Frawley) which was before my time when I was a kid. William Demarest and Fred MacMurray appeared in 6 films together.

    1. Hey Dan
      1. Great lists…thanks for sharing.
      2. All my My Three Sons viewings were in the 1970s…when those shows were in syndication……spent many an afternoon of my youth watching that show.
      3. Not too bad of a first list…especially considering that his movie career was essentially over in the 1950s.
      4. On the second list…I did not notice Bess Flowers….and was all set to comment that I was shocked these two never appeared in the same movie…..but on a second viewing…I see that see is not only on the list…but on the list EIGHT times….now that is what I was thinking…lol.
      5. 44 Oscar winners is above normal……I could only imagine the total if he had done more work at MGM.
      6. One would have to assume that Demarest and MacMurray got along off camera….it would be sad to find out they did not like each other…after 6 movies and My Three Sons.
Good feedback as always…thanks for sharing.

  2. Hi

Demarest was another of those great character actors who graced so many movies and even if people didn’t specifically go to see him, he certainly added to the success of many of the films he appeared in. Most notably for me, The Jolson Story and Jolson Sings Again. I’ve seen both movies so many times as it was a family favourite, he was like an old uncle.
He was also great in all the Preston Sturges movies.

    1. Hey Chris.
      1. Good comment…as always.
      2. Reading how The Jolson Story and Jolson Sings Again was a family favorite is enjoyable to me….my mom loves those two movies as well….she has probably seen each movie at least 100 times.
      3. I agree with you….the Demarest/Sturges team made some all-time classic movies.
Good to hear from you again….your feedback is greatly appreciated.

  3. I’ve never really watched a movie just because he was in it, but he is a dependable supporting player.

I have seen 5 of the top 10 movies and 23 Demerest movies overall.

    My favourite movies are:

    The Lady Eve
It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
    Sullivan’s Travels
    Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
    Viva Las Vegas
    That Darn Cat!

    1. Hey Flora….tally count….you 23, Steve 14 and me 9. I agree with you 100%…he was a very dependable supporting player. Of our favorites…seen them all except for That Darn Cat….but loved The Lady Eve, Mad World, Sully’s Travels, Mr. Smith and Viva Las Vegas. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Mr. Demarest….they are greatly appreciated.
