Christopher Lloyd (1938-) is a American actor.   Lloyd made his acting debut in 1975’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest , and he gained widespread recognition for his role on the television series Taxi (1978–1983), for which he won two Emmy Awards®.  Other Lloyd highlights:  playing Commander Kruge in 1984’s Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Emmett “Doc” Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy, and  Judge Doom in 1988’s Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988).   His IMDb page shows over 230 acting credits since 1975.   1. Christopher Allen Lloyd was born on October 22, 1938, in Stamford, Connecticut.  His maternal grandfather, Lewis Henry Lapham (1858-1934), was one of the founders of the Texaco Oil Company.

2.  As a young actor, Christopher Lloyd performed at the Yale Repertory Theater with Meryl Streep.

3.  To prepare for the role of Taber in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975), Christopher Lloyd lived in a mental institution for several weeks and studied the patients. He modeled his character after one of the patients and stayed in character through all filming even when not on screen.

    1. Hey bob cox…glad you found your requested page. Interesting that you rated The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai so high…..that movie was the topic of discussion at work the other day. I have seen that one….but never understood why so many people enjoyed the movie. I guess I need to watch it again. Good stuff as always.

    Christopher Lloyd’s Doc Brown has to be one of cinema’s best known mad scientists, though he wasn’t really mad, just eccentric.

    I’ve seen 23 of the 81 films on the chart, less than I thought. Favorites include- the Back to the Future trilogy, Roger Rabbit, Piranha 3D, Addams Family 1-2, Sin City 2, Star Trek III, Buckaroo Banzai, The Dream Team and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

    I haven’t seen Eight Men Out or Goin’ South.

    Looking at the adjusted grosses Cuckoo’s Nest was nearly as successful as Back to the Future, Michael Douglas was a producer, he must have made his first million from that movie.

    1. Hey Steve….classic quote from Back To The Future. I agree Doc Brown is one of cinema’s best known mad scientist. Tally count…39 for me…23 for you. I have seen all of your favorites. Back To The Future 1, Roger Rabbit, both Addams Family movies, Star Trek 3 (this is Lloyd’s favorite of his movies) and One Flew Over Cuckoo’s Nest would be amongst my favorites as well. I really enjoyed Eight Men Out and Goin’ South. I would say you would enjoy Goin’ South more…as Eight Men Out is a baseball movie about a scandal that happened over 100 years ago. Cuckoo’s Nest helped Douglas break the bank and pick an Oscar for his efforts. That is one of the highest rated movies in our entire databse. Good stuff as always.
