Edward Dmytryk Movies

Want to know the best Edward Dmytryk movies?  How about the worst Edward Dmytryk movies?  Curious about Edward Dmytryk box office grosses or which Edward Dmytryk movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Edward Dmytryk movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences and which got the worst reviews? Well, you have come to the right place…. because we have all of that information and much more.

Edward Dmytryk (1908-1999) was an Oscar® nominated American director.  Dmytryk was known for his 1940s noir films.  In 1947, he was named as one of the Hollywood Ten, a group of blacklisted film industry professionals who refused to testify to the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) in their investigations during the McCarthy-era Red Scare. His IMDb page shows 56 directing credits from 1935 to 1979. This page will rank Edward Dmytryk movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. To do well in the rankings, a movie needed to do well at the box office, be liked by both critics and audiences and earn some award recognition. FYI – Some of his early Paramount movies are not included in the rankings due to lack of box office information.

Hey Flora….your tally destroys my total of 9….as your 27 seen is three times my total. I have seen 6 of your favorites. And one of your others. That is a lot of movies in your favorite list…but I know there are some of your favorites in those movies….Peck, Widmark. FYI – I was looking at the website this morning and thinking I needed a classic page…..and up popped Edward Dmytryk. Good stuff as always.
