  1. Laurence Harvey, good subject, I’ve only seen a handful of his films though.

Okay, I’ve seen 7 of the 40 films on the chart. Top favorites are the The Manchurian Candidate and The Alamo. I’ve also seen King Richard and the Crusaders, Charge of the Light Brigade, The Brothers Grimm, Darling and The Black Rose.

‘Room at the Top’ is highly rated I should add that to my ‘movies to watch’ list. I watched ‘Look Back in Anger’ starring Richard Burton for the first time a few months ago on cable. So I am trying to catch up on famous films I’ve missed.

    Nice work Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve….thanks for the feedback on our Laurence Harvey page. Tally counts: Flora at the top with 11, me at 9, you at 7, PhilHoF17 5 and bob cox 4. I have actually seen 5 of the ones you have seen…..including re-watching The Charge of the Light Brigade just two nights ago.

As for your favorites….I have strong memories of watching The Alamo…as my brother told me John Wayne was going to survive…I was so upset when The Duke died….but I leaned something very important…my older brother is a liar and I should never trust him….lol.

Room At The Top was ok…..but not one I will be re-visiting. Good stuff as always.

      1. Hhmm.. hate to correct you Bruce, but I recalled that Bob Roy had listed his have-seen Laurence Harvey movies and that there were many. I went back to his comment and there were indeed 20, as you yourself noted in your response to him. So like with Jeffrey Hunter, Bob beats the hell out of all of us on this one. I’m suspecting that Bob is actually a bigger fan of Harvey and Hunter than of Brando at this point….but he probably won’t admit it.

        1. Hey PhilHoF17…..you are 100% correct. I was indeed shortchanging Bob. Actual tally counts: Bob with 20, Flora with 11, Cogerson at 9, Steve at 7, PhilHoF17 5 and bob cox 4.

Since I am such a nice guy, I will let Flora keep her gold medal….and present Bob with his gold medal…lol. Good catch.

          1. For years Phil I have been shamefully neglected on this site but I have remained patient as I knew that someday YOU would come!

          2. For years Phil I have been shamefully neglected on this site but I have remained patient as I knew that someday YOU would come!

          3. Hey Bob….maybe one day we can make it up to you……but until then….it is good to know that Phil is your guardian angel….lol.

        2. HI PHIL.

You are not far wrong. The young Hunter was in films that I liked whereas I was not interested in early Brando films like streetcar and the Men.

Overall though John Wayne is probably the star whose movies I have watched most75 out of 95 on his cogerson page -79% Brandowould though be among those of whose movies I have seen the highest %. – 92%. Of his cogerson listed ones.

My lowest count would probably films in which Myrna lot appeared. I have seen many of them because gable bill Powell grant Heston etc were in them but there are few of her movies that I would regard as MYRNA LOY movies. I am not as easily taken in by hype as some others appear to be.

          1. Hey Bob…I recently watched my 98th and 99th Michael Caine movies…tracked down his Kidnapped and rented his latest…4 Kids and It.

July 14, 2020 at 7:45 am Speaking of Joel’s book. As I have said…one of our goals is to do a page on every subject in his book ——I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel of this project.”

Thank goodness for that. For The Work Horse’s own sake [not to mention that of other squeamish and sensitive viewers such as yours truly] I’m glad that soon it will be all over. Imagine being with Joel Hirschhorn for so long in a tunnel without light-

“Like one that on a lonesome road
Doth walk with fear and dread.
Because he knows some fearsome fiend
    Doth close behind him tread!”

    1. Hey Bob. Yep the end is near. WoC just duct taped my Joel book. Hoping to get this done before I have to go to a “new to me” Joel book. I have spared you and the other you and the UMR regulars, as I have been doing Joel subjects and not pushing them for views. Been doing 5 packs pages. Currently finishing up the latest 5 pack which will put the total of pages to do in the 30s. Weird projects like this are things that keep the website going….lol.
