  1. Surprised it took you so long to do a Steve Guttenberg page Bruce, I thought he was an 80s favorite of yours.

I’ve seen 11 of the 32 films on the chart, less than I thought. Favorites are – Cocoon 1 & 2, Short Circuit, the first Police Academy and The Boys from Brazil.

I watched The Boys from Brazil again recently, it’s an old favorite, watched it many times. Guttenberg is killed by the evil Gregory Peck, whaaat? Say it ain’t so! More accurately one of Josef Mengele’s henchmen.

    Good work Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve….thanks for the thoughts on Steve Guttenberg. I agree…I liked him in the 1980s…I really liked him in Diner. The main reason for the delay were all the low budget unheard of movies he made from 1990 to today. It is tiring going through unknown movie after unknown movie trying to find ones that even briefly saw the light of an American theater. Tally count. 18 for me, 11 for you. Looking at your favorites list….seen them all except for Cocoon 2. I am beginning to wonder if I will ever watch that sequel…so far…32 years …and I have not seen it. Now…if Ron Howard would have directed it…I would have seen it as soon as possible. Boys From Brazil was early Guttenberg….I first noticed him in the musical classic Can’t Stop The Music……which I saw in theaters….why I do not know. That might be why I do not like musicals too much….maybe that movie scarred me for life….lol. Good stuff as always.

  2. Not one of my favorite actors back in the 80’s, like C. Thomas Howell or his co-star Ted Danson.

    1. Hey Dan….thanks for the comment, feedback and trivia lists on Mr. Steve Guttenberg. So you arte not a fan of Mr. Guttenberg. He was pretty popular in the early 1980s…but by the 1990s his career stalled….and the last 30 years have been pretty forgetful…..but….his 1980s makes him have a spot in movie history. Looking at the first list…..lots of people tied with two movies with Guttenberg…so in the event of a tie….we give the win to Michael Caine…lol. I saw Surrender in theaters back in the day…..not many people can make that claim. 16 Oscar winning co-stars is more than I would have guessed. Surrender getting some love on that list too. Good stuff as always.

        1. Hey Dan…..there are not many of us that bought a ticket to Surrender…..according to our stats…it sold 1.5 million tickets or 1.5 million people saw it in theaters. I actually thought it was ok…with some funny parts. I rewatched a while ago and thought it was decent…though Caine thinks it is among his worst movies.

  3. I have seen 18 of the movies listed here….I actually saw his worst ranked movie (Can’t Stop The Music) and 3rd worst ranked movie (Surrender) in theaters. Favorites would include Police Academy 1, Diner and Cocoon. I recently watched Trauma Center (because I am a Bruce Willis fan) and did not even realize that Guttenberg was in the movie until I saw the end credits.
