  1. Now that’s a lot of films! Anthony Quinn was a busy actor and very popular too.
    Let’s see I’ve seen… 1 2 3… 30 of the 81 films you’ve listed.

Good to see some of my favorites at the top of the moviescore. Lawrence, Navarone and Road to Morocco. The Black Swan was a fun swashbuckler in gorgeous Technicolor.

Of the critics top 10 I haven’t seen – The Message, La Strada or Requiem for a Heavyweight.

Quinn had a long movie career, he was playing villains in the 1930’s and nearly 60 years later was threatening Arnold Schwarzenegger in Last Action Hero.

10 children? whoa! Excellent job putting this together Bruce. Voted up.

    1. Hey Steve thanks for the visit. Let’s see you are at 30…. I am at…drum roll…counting….21. Flora tops us both with 35. Requiem for a Heavyweight is a good movie….but a one and done movie for me. I have not the other highly rated movies either. I agree he had a long and very successful career. One of his 10 children was in Platoon. As always thanks for sharing your movie thoughts.

  2. Hello Bruce, I’m so happy you did an Anthony Quinn page. Quinn was won of my favorite film stars from the 1960’s. Critics thought he just kept playing Zorba the Greek throughout the 1960’s. One of Quinn’s daughters said that Quinn was most like Zorba in real life so he was playing himself perhaps. So I figure the critics just didn’t like Quinn. But I loved Anthony Quinn. Some of my favorite Quinn films are “La Strada”, “Warlock”, “Lawrence of Arabia”, “The Guns of Navarone”, “Barabbas”, “Zorba the Greek”, “A High Wind in Jamaica”, “The 25th Hour”, “The Shoes of the Fisherman” and “The Secret of Santa Vittoria”.

    1. Hey Lyle….glad you like your requested page. Actually the last three pages came from your requests…not sure how that worked out. Quinn had a very impressive movie career. I think critics liked him…when I look at my master file…which has 288 actors/actresses. His average rating per movie is 64.8%…that is 143rd of 288…so he is in the top half. One day I will get that table of information out there too…I think it is pretty interesting cumulative stats.

Of the movies you listed….only The 25th Hour escaped me…I will have to go back and see if I can find a box office number. Pretty sure it did not even come close to a million dollars in rentals…so its box office ceiling is pretty low. Hope your New Year is awesome.

    1. Hey Navarone….I think we will agree to disagree on that. Guns of Navarone is a great movie to…but Lawrence of Arabia is pretty good too….thanks for checking out my latest movie page.

  3. Hey, he was a good actor – I really liked his role in Guns for Navarone with Gregory Peck. That was a good movie. I did not realize that he had that many children. I believe that he was a painter or had a great art collection. Enjoyed all the facts once again. LOOKING FORWARD TO MORE IN 2016! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

    1. Hey BERN1960…good to see you again.I figured you would mention Guns of Navarone. Mr Quinn was a very active person….pretty sure his youngest child is about Bryan’s age. He was indeed a painter…and it sounds like he was a very good painter. Glad you liked the page. Happy New Year to you too.
