    1. Hey Dan. As always thanks for your efforts in putting together these massive lists. His ranking of 539th is higher than I would’ve guessed. When looking at the first list, it is always good when something starts with Michael Caine. Looks like Julie Christie is the most famous Oracle co-stat….or at least the most famous of those with 3 movies with Bates. Looking at the second list, I’m surprised that he only has 20 Oscar winning costars. As always your list provided lots of great information. Thank you.

  2. I have seen 8 Alan Bates movies, with six of them in the top 10.

The HIGHEST rated movie I have seen is Zorba the Greek.

The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is An Unmarried Woman.

The LOWEST rated movie I have seen is The Running Man.

    Favourite Alan Bates Movies:

    Georgy Girl
    The Rose
    Women in Love
    The Go-Between

Other Alan Bates Movies I Have Seen:

    Zorba the Greek
    The Entertainer
    Hamlet
    The Running Man

    1. Hey Flora. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Alan Bates. Tally count: Steve 10, Cogerson 10 and you at 8. An Unmarried Woman is well acted, but not a fun movie to watch….so I do not think you are missing much by not seeing it. I have seen 4 of the 8 you have seen….2 from your favorites list and two from your others list. The Running Man is probably the one I want to see the most…even though it landed on your “others” list. Good stuff as always.

  3. Great now I’m about 50 new pages behind. 🙂

I’ve seen 10 of the 41 films on the chart. No big favorites but I did enjoy Zorba the Greek the couple of times I saw it and I have a copy of The Sum of All Fears on DVD.

For some reason that escapes me now I watched A Prayer for the Dying a bunch of times on video back in the late 80s, maybe I was going thru a temporary ‘Mickey Rourke is a fascinating actor and I love his fake Irish accent’ phase?

    Good stuff Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve….thanks for the comment on our Alan Bates page. I do not think you are 50 pages behind. During this week’s absence I did not write too many pages in advance….but I admit I did during my first and second batch of dental work.

Tally count: You and me tied with 10…Flora sits at 8. Like you, I do not really have any favorites. I keep wanting to say Wolfen is a favorite….but that is a Finney movie not a Bates movie.

I saw A Prayer for the Dying when it came out on VHS…..but have only vague memories of it…at the time I was a Rourke fan….so I remember being excited about watching it…..but I guess it is far to say it was not too memorable. Good stuff as always.
