  1. I saw 6, including top 3. 10 and favorite: cat on a hot tin roof. this is in my top 10 dramas all time. a great story of family dysfunction and alcoholism. greater than several other great alcoholism movies: days of wine and rose, come back little sheba, the lost weekend, a tree grows in Brooklyn ( a UMR top 1000), mommie dearest.
Ives was in brass bottle , a precedent to televisions “I Dream of Jeannie” . babara eden was in both with burl ives as the genie in the movie. Ives was in summer magic . a precedent to the magic of belle isle in Morgan freemans role.

    1. Hey bob cox….thanks for stopping by. Hope work is getting if not easier at list not as time consuming. Thanks for the tally count and your rankings. Good mini-review of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. Good shout out to A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. James Dunn in that movie is amazing….a performance that has been forgotten with time…even with an Oscar attached to that performance. Interesting about I Dream of Jeannie and The Magic of Belle Isle…..I did not know that at all. Good stuff as always.

  2. Did you know in 1962 2 actors who had won the best supporting actor award had top 10 hits on Billboard. Burl had the immortal Funny Way of Laughin’ and A Little Bitty Tear, 2 top 10’s at 53 years of age. Then we had the oldest person I think ever to have a top 10, 68 year old Walter Brennan with Old Rivers. I think I have both of Burl’s hits on 45 stashed in the closet, none of these records looked at in over 20 years.

    Burl was never on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000 Center of the Hollywood Universe list; these are the actors on the current list he appeared with;

    1. Hey Dan.
      1. Not sure how I missed your Burl Ives comment….but bob cox’s recent comment has allowed me to fix this problem.
      2. Good lists as always….thank you for putting them together.
      3. Great trivia about Burl and Walter Brennan and their Oscars and their music success…I knew all about Burl’s music career….no idea about Walter’s pipes being so impressive….thanks for sharing that info…love stuff like that.
      4. Looking at the the first list…lots of stars….but few multiple co-stars….looks like Terry-Thomas and Maurice Denham are the only ones with more that one Burl movies….interesting!
      5. Second list…19 seems on the low end…but his heyday movie career was actually pretty short…really only about a 7 or 8 year span.
Thanks again…sorry for the delay..but you are still the man!

  3. Hello Bruce,
He is looking a little, specially in the film
Cat on a hot tin roof , like the actor patriarch in the série
« Succession », but in the meantime stereotypes are always here and now and for the futur.
    Have a good day
    Pierre

    1. Hey Taylor….I agree his movie career quantity is not too impressive….luckily he was able to get some classic movies completed in that pretty short movie career. Good stuff.

    2. Hello Bruce,
I was looking for you answer on Holly Hunter page and I read a answer on the Burl Ives page, and I am so sorry, I have to write I forget completely this comment ( the same thing for Holly Hunter when I made a little hello to Helakoski)
So the conclusion is very simple, I have to stop drinking when I am on the Ultimate Movie Ranking site.
I like very much the série Succession, but i think my comment is very Out of order and thank you for your very much for your very short but very nice.
      Bye
      Pierre
