  1. Sorry to hear this news. Not sure I have seen a single one of her movies. I will have to watch The Poseidon Adventure one of these days.

    1. Hey Taylor…I have only seen two of her movies…so you are not too far behind my total. I would recommend her The Poseidon Adventure….would avoid the Kurt Russell remake and the Michael Caine sequel….and even though both actors are favorites of mine…those are very bad movies. Rest in peace Carol Lynley.

    1. Hey Janet Z. I have not seen any of the three movies you mentioned…I will have to track those movies down. Thanks for checking out our Carol Lynley tribute page. RIP.

  2. My comments just disappeared while writing this. Bunny Lake is Missing is the first film I saw of hers circa 1968 on network TV. The Cardinal from 1963 was one of the first VHS tapes I bought from Goodtimes Home Video. Hey it cost $9.99 back then (cheap for the time) and was # 6 I believe on Variety’s top films of 1963. She appeared with Dorothy Gish in that film. Dorothy made her first flic in 1912. I saw The Poseidon Adventure back then and actually saw your bottom 2, The Shape of Things to Come and Beware! The Blob! (1972) on neighborhood double bills. And can someone tell me why in 1965 there were competing Jean Harlow biographies out there,

Carol was never on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000 Center of the Hollywood Universe list. These are the actors on the current list she appeared with.

    1. Hey Dan
      1. Sorry your comment disappeared.
      2. Thanks for sharing this information on Ms. Lynley. I have had people criticize me for doing this pages after a recent passing…..but I always view it as a way to honor their memory. And your lists put even more light on the movie legacy she left behind.
      3. I have seen some Goodtimes Video Store VHS tapes show up in thrifts stores…I actually did not realize it was a store….we did not have them around here.
      4. Some VHS tapes are actually valuable. I have two unopened VHS tapes on my desk right….double tapes of Gone With The Wind and The Greatest Show On Earth….those were the days…when longer movies had to have TWO tapes.
      5. Very cool that you have seen both The Shape of Things to Come and Beware! The Blob!…so the question has to be…do they earn their bottom of the barrel UMR rankings?
      6. First list…most frequent co-star is…… many people with two movies with her….two movies with Jack Palance….never would have guessed that.
      7. Second list….one movie has 4 of the 18 Oscar winning co-stars….Poseidon Adventure is well represented in both lists.
      8. Thanks again…Rest in Peace Carol Lynley.

      1. Goodtimes Video was a video company that released old movies. I remember they had some Columbia pictures like Lust for Gold, Phffft with Judy Holliday etc. They were sold in numerous drug stores and record stores. I have Woodstock 1994 (a 25th anniversary show, they couldn’t do 50). That tape is unopened after 25 years.

        1. Hey Dan. Thanks for the further information on Goodtimes Video. That Woodstock 1994 might be one of the VHS tapes that is worth something. Good stuff.

  3. Glad to see your power is back on and that you have been able to do a page on Carol Lynley.

I have seen only 6 Carol Lynley movies, but 5 of them are in the top 10 and the 6th film is the 12th film.

The HIGHEST rated movie I have seen is The Poseidon Adventure.

The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is The Cardinal.

The LOWEST rated movie I have seen is The Pleasure Seekers.

Favourite Carol Lynley Movies I Have Seen:

    The Poseidon Adventure
    The Last Sunset
    Bunny Lake is Missing

Other Carol Lynley Movies I Have Seen: enjoyable, but not favourites

    Under the Yum Yum Tree
    Return to Peyton Place
    The Pleasure Seekers

Carol always had a fine performance.

    Rest in peace Carol Lynley

    1. Hey Flora. A little late….but we finally have your requested Carol Lynley tribute page. I have actually only seen two of her movies. The Poseidon Adventure and The Cardinal. Looks like you have seen the right Lynley movies is 5 of them are in the UMR Top 10. I want to see Bunny Lake is Missing….maybe it will be showing up more often. That is somewhat eerie that TCM has a Lynley double feature tomorrow. Good information as always. Rest in peace Ms. Lynley.
