Hey Dan….nice addition to these yearly pages. I have seen 17 of his 4 star movies. FAvorites would include Blood Simple, After Hours, Prizzi’s Honor, Ran, Witness, To Live and Die in L.A. and the first half of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. I have seen Ran three times. The first time it blew me away, the second time I was not impressed (must have been in a bad mood) and the third time I thought it was awesome…maybe I should not watch it a 4th time…lol. Lucas might be the biggest surprise to make this list. Thanks for sharing this information.

Hey Dan. The concept (entire movie in one take) of Russian Ark is amazing. The way they pulled off the concept was amazing. The camera constantly moves through the Winter Palace of the Russian State Hermitage Museum while the actors act around the moving camera. Room after room after room, 4,500 talented people in front and behind the camera walk a tightrope of almost 100 minutes of non-stop movement. The biggest downfall is the subject…..Russian history. Not for me, a subject that I know about or am very interested in hearing about. I guess they should make an American Ark, or a Canada Ark, or a Belfast Ark, or a England Ark or a……
