  • Sidney Johnson on 2015 Movies Ranked Best To WorstJasmine HK film with Low average reviewer ratings but a really high number of Film festival wins and nominations. Not sure what to make of that divergence but thought I would mention it given the really large number of film festival reactions. I suppose one possibility is that the competition at all these film festivals at that particular time wasn't very challenging. Either that or we should ignore low vote counts on IMDB as very indicative. That said i tend to not trust high scores on low counts. Low scores seems like one should trust them more but perhaps it...

  • "HANDY MAN" on 1967 Top Box Office MoviesI was wondering if the wording beneath the montage of 4 photographs on this page is mixing up Harrison Ford’s Star Wars character with Paul Newman’s Cool Han [d] Luke! The spread of the photos themselves is magnificent though. I especially like the one of Lee Marvin, nostalgically showcased by the background vista of middle- sixties America. And who could resist any still of the notorious Mrs Robinson! The Marvin shot is possibly LA. I think the locations for the movie were mostly from Santa Monica Beach to 2nd Street Santa Monica. Though they started off in Frisco’s Alcatraz Island...

  • Mike HoF 2020 on Alan Ladd MoviesHi Mr. Cogerson, The multiplier for box office rentals only is about 3.4 for most, This varies when a movie post less box office data in less cities. This causes the multiplier for the less to increase. The number of cities posting this data can be as low as 1 out of 23 or as high as 23 out of 23. The current number of cities currently I use is 23. I am currently doing the 1940s. I have completed the 1950s and 160s. thx for your cooperation

  • ANONYMOUS - Addition of extra movie requested on Dorothy Malone MoviesI am currently doing an analysis of Dorothy’s career and this page has been most useful to me in my efforts. Her career at the top was sadly brief; but she was in many movies outside her peak years that were reasonably-popular, but with some of which not everybody would immediately associate her – Martin and Lewis’ 1953 Scared Stiff for example (I myself had forgotten she was in that one, Lizabeth Scott and Carmen Miranda being the top-billed females)! Within that context this is a very comprehensive page that has done well to round up 36 of Dorothy’s films...

  • Lyle on Site IndexHello Bruce. I was wondering if you could do a page or book on the actual theatrical film rentals if that were possible? There are many films I don't have the actual rental figures. For instance I've always wanted to know the rental figures for such as The Trouble with Harry (1955), Major Dundee (1965) and Viva Max (1969), to name just a few. By the way I recently read an article titled "Some Revisions" from Variety that states the actual domestic rentals for The Comancheros (1961) were $3,500,000 which would make it's actually box office gross in the range...

Contrary to the media, the first was Mexican indigenous actress Yalitza Aparicio for Roma in 2018. Some people still believe that America is one country instead of a continent. Indigenous representation in film and television continues to be miniscule.
